Hi all,

I am 4+3 and am just wondering when my first pre-natal appointment should be? When did you have yours?

I notified my docs when I found out last week but they just put me in a maternity book and said someone will call me. I presume I wont be waiting til week 12 for my first appointment? What sort of stuff do they do/look for in the first appointment?

You should get a booking appointment with your midwife around 8-10 weeks and your first scan around 12 weeks.

The booking appointment is quite long - about an hour - as they ask you lots of questions about your medical history, family medical history etc. They'll take your blood, urine sample, weigh you, give you your maternity notes, discuss breast feeding and birth options.
