Baby movements

I'm having my first baby and I think I can feel the baby move (I'm 22 weeks) but it could also be muscle spasms. I'm pretty sure it's the baby though. But it seems to happen quite often ie a movement or a few movements every hour or 2.

I'm quite surprised how often I feel movements, I thought it would be once a day or something.

Does everyone else feel their baby this often or am I wrong and it is muscle spasms?

I'm 29 weeks and feel the babies on and off all day and night. It's normal. I think their sleep cycles in the womb are supposed to be 40 minutes or something, so you'll feel them a lot more than once a day.

Thank you for your response. I don't know why I'm so surprised to feel the baby more than once a day Grin

That's your baby by the sound of it!

It feels far more like a twitchy muscle than anything else at first. Enjoy!!!!!

Wait til you're 37 weeks like me and the little beast is booting you in the bladder and cervix and making you scream Grin

Oh I can't wait for that!

I can feel the movements in my belly but the little monkey stops when Me or DH puts a hand there to feel!

Yes I was feeling movements quite early - 15 weeks or so. I guess two in there makes it more noticeable. But DH has to wait until 20 weeks and it was a few more weeks until he was sure what he was feeling.

I felt movements allll day and night with DD, she never stopped! It was actually quite distracting during work meetings. Unfortunately for me she continued to be as feisty outside the womb 😩
