Bleeding and pain

Hi. Just need a bit of advice as I'm in a state. Was meant to have an appointment for a scan at EPAU today. Couldn't make it because my trains in that direction are cancelled. I've had bleeding overnight and pain in my left side. Not agony but it's there. I've had miscarriages before and am hysterically crying in to my cornflakes because the scan today was keeping me going. Do you know if there is any way I can be seen somewhere else today? Is A&E over dramatic? I'm so scared of having another miscarriage and just need to know what's going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I feel extremely lost.

Just to add I'm only 6 weeks

Pain in one side can be a symptom of an ectopic pregnancy, and so I am sure it's best for you to get seen however you need to.

Tbh a&e will refer you back to EPU. They don't generally have scanning capability. If you can get to an A&e can you not get to an EPU? Have you rung them to tell them of your transport difficulties? Taxi?

@milney25 that's why doc referred me. Sod's law I'm away with work from tomorrow until Friday which is why it was booked for today. Really not sure what to do

@QueenAravisOfArchenland I'm an hour away from any hospital so annoyingly can not get a taxi. None of the EPAUs in my area accept self referral. Just at a loss.

Definitely call 111 explain whats happened & the pain you're in, they will advise. Good luck

Bumblealong1 · 19/03/2018 09:06

Have you called the local EPAUs and explained? Perhaps they can advise.
Good luck.

I second calling 111. They'll get you in somewhere ASAP. The one sided pain is cause for concern.

If it brings you any comfort, I bled heavily with abdominal pain on one side with DS for the first four months on and off. They attributed my one sided pain and the bleeding to a large cyst bursting. What I'm trying to say is please don't give up hope, but get yourself to a hospital.

Thanks all. I've been on hold to 111 for 10 mins so hopefully they'll pick up soon. I've had enough of this snow it causes so many issues!
