How soon did you feel baby

Hello mums to be!
I'm 12 weeks tomorrow so I know it too early for me to feel anything but sometimes when I'm lying on my side, I get what I can only describe as little flutters/bubbles in my tummy and to comfort myself (previous history of miscarriage) I like to think it's baby jiggling about deep within. When did you first feel a baby flutter?

Not too soon. I felt my first at 14-15 weeks and second before that I think.

applesandpears56 · 18/03/2018 20:24

Little flutters is exactly what it feels like

windchimesabotage · 18/03/2018 20:26

I didnt feel anything until 20 weeks and it initially felt like little bubbles or ripples. Apparently I have anterior placenta which is why I dont feel as much. The placenta cushions the movements of the baby.

lookingforaline18 · 18/03/2018 20:27

I'm 13 weeks and I'm sure I've been feeling something these past couple of days Smile

preggersteach · 18/03/2018 21:20

I didn't feel anything until 20 weeks

pumpkinbump · 18/03/2018 21:37

I felt it at about 15 weeks, it's my first.

Bonge · 18/03/2018 21:57

I did feel movements when I felt the lower right hand side of my stomach from about 16 weeks from the outside, but nothing inside until 21 weeks. I do have an anterior placenta so that definitely played a part Smile

user1485778793 · 18/03/2018 22:40

I didn't feel my first till about 20 weeks, the placenta was at the front. But i didnt really know what it felt like if get what i mean

This one I started to feel about 13 weeks, the placenta is at the back so I feel her way more than my first.

meow1989 · 18/03/2018 22:56

Currently pregnant with first baby. I felt a definite kick at 16 weeks then barely anything for a week or so! Then flutters and since about 20 weeks stronger and stronger kicks. Since about last week (am 26+2) I've felt more wriggles as well as kicks and sometimes ill feel something low and high at the same time so assume there's some punches being thrown around 😅

Was surprised to find out I have an anterior placenta at 20 week scan as I feel so much movement, normally in the right side.

RachelP93 · 21/03/2018 19:25

I felt the little bubbles at around 11 weeks, I think. I instantly thought it was the baby and tried to feel more. When I went to the 12 week scan I could see the baby wriggling around like crazy, but I couldn't feel anything. So it makes me wonder if the 'bubbles/flutter' feeling really is the baby or if it's because everything (organs etc) is slowly moving around in there.

Either way, it's a comforting and lovely feeling

ceestar · 21/03/2018 19:30

I didn’t feel anything until week 24/25ish! First time pregnancy here. Now he won’t stop kicking!

Crunkly · 21/03/2018 20:16

Have you had your scan yet? Maybe your dates are a little off and you are a couple of weeks further on than you think? I first felt mine at 17 weeks ish. To me it was obvious straight away that’s what it was because I’ve never felt anything like it but some people do think it’s similar to wind.

spydie · 21/03/2018 20:37

I'm expecting no.2 and first felt bubbles just before 12 weeks when laid very quietly on my back. And it ramped up from there, was feeling real nudges as well as a washing machine sensation by 15 weeks, and DH felt multiple nudges at 17 weeks (and you could see them from the outside!).

With my first I felt first bubbles at about 16 weeks and 18 weeks was definitely sure it was baby. I had an anterior placenta first time round too. But there isn't much of me so I guess it's a case of everyone's different!

YorkieDorkie · 21/03/2018 20:42

18 weeks with DD1 and 12 weeks with DC2.

DG87 · 22/03/2018 09:48

To be honest i think its probably wind and im just looking for any reassuring reason that its baby! I have my 12 week scan today and im petrified. Last year we fell pregnant but found out at the 12 week scan the baby had died about 8 weeks, hense the nerves!
Things feel different this time, and my tummy has grown but a part of me just thinks thats because ive eaten like im pregnant and just gotten fat! however it is a hard tummy rather than a flabby one lol! Did anyone elses symtoms drop off arounf 11/12 weeks? Or were they replaced with other symptoms? First baby so constantly looking for advice and feedback...

14 weeks. I was surprised as it’s considered too early, but it was unmistakable.

YorkieDorkie · 22/03/2018 10:58

That's so understandable to be frightened OP, try to keep yourself relaxed. So many people have uncomplicated, healthy pregnancies after MC. I hope all is fine.

Minkies13 · 22/03/2018 12:42

18.5 weeks and I've still felt nothing. I was told I have an anterior placenta, so I assume that's why.

Celticlassie · 22/03/2018 12:47

At 18 weeks I felt a little thump.

YorkieDorkie · 22/03/2018 12:49

Yes @Minkies13 that's a really common reason to not feel kicks for a while! I think my friend with an anterior placenta felt her first kicks around 23 weeks.

Cockmagic · 22/03/2018 12:50

About 22 weeks anything before then was probably wind lol

NamelessNinja · 22/03/2018 12:52

I would say it's most likely your digestive system or things being moved around a bit by your growing uterus! I felt flutters about 17 weeks and proper kicks from about 19 with an anterior placenta and DH could feel them soon after that. Hope the scan goes well, I definitely started to feel better about 10 weeks and was terrified something would be wrong at the scan but all was well.

savagehk · 23/03/2018 11:30

With my first, the nausea stopped around 14 weeks then there was a stretch till about 18 weeks where, aside from my growing belly, there were no signs at all I was pregnant. At 18 weeks I had one strange 'bubble' / 'pop' and then we went into the bit where it feels like a hamster is running around inside.

With my second I was feeling movement from very early on (10 weeks?!). I was worried it might be twins!

GottaBeStrong · 23/03/2018 11:39

I hope that your scan went well. I felt the first movements around 14/15 weeks - it was like a very low down dragging feeling horizontally or very slow swooshing.

DG87 · 23/03/2018 15:54

I had my scan yesterday and baby was growing amazingly, further along than i had worked about but only by a week. So relieved and so happy! Baby was wriggling about and having a great time in there, was truly amazing!!!! Im on cloud 9 today, cant really focus on anything other than my little baby
