Induction delayed

Just on for a moan.

Was supposed to be induced at 3pm today but told to phone at 12 to confirm. I thought this was to confirm I was coming in but it turns out it's to check they have space and they're full! I'm to phone back at 4pm and will still hopefully be taken in this evening.

I know there's nothing anyone can do about these things but I'm so on edge now and had made all the arrangements for in-laws to be staying to look after DS (although they're running late too as it happens!).

Feel bad as it's DH's birthday and although I had suggested we do something for lunch he's too stressed about going in to want to do anything else.

JennyBlue...you have my sympathies, it does make you feel on edge doesn't it.

Not quite the same but I'm due to have a C-section on Wednesday - was first on the list and now I have been bumped to 3rd (and will create if changed because this baby needs to arrive a.s.a.p.) and this was frustrating enough because of childcare arrangements etc. Also, the anticipation - now I have to hang around waiting all morning...that was part of the point to get in and get it done. It only seems minor in the great scheme of things but I agree totally that it does put you on edge.

Wishing you all the best with your induction x

It’s a pain in the arse, but better waiting at home than even more time at the hospital waiting for induction to be started!

Aw, I feel for you OP. Preparing oneself for induction is hard enough without the uncertainty of delays. If it's any consolation, I went into hospital for my induction at 9am and was left waiting in a room until 5pm before they got started with me. It turned out that scheduled inductions take a back seat when there are women in actual labour showing up and limited beds / staff resources.

Good luck and enjoy your time at home with your DH. Glass of bubbly maybe??Smile

Phoned back at 4. Still no room but they'll phone me back... could be tonight... could be tomorrow...

Trying to sort out bedding arrangements as in-laws were getting our bed while I was away (DH on a camp-bed in his den).

Wish baby would just decide to get on with it naturally! That would solve things. Have suggested curry for dinner!

Happened to me but I was stuck at the hospital all day. I eventually started to contract myself and when they broke my waters it all went super fast.

It's shit and frustrating though. Fingers crossed you don't have too long a wait

Curry for dinner, Bubble bath, jack Johnson, relaxing like your life depends on it.

In all seriousness though baby will unfortunately not budge on their own if they don’t want to. I tried acupuncture and ALL SORTS.
Hope things move for you soon!

So just had a phone call (just after DH came to bed) to ask if I can come in. Thank goodness for understanding ILs!
