Clary Sage?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with using clary sage oil to induce labour?

I've heard numerous stories that it can set off contractions and can be a good natural labour inducer?

I'm 37 weeks and am due to be induced in a week and a few days, I'd much prefer for baby to make his appearance on his own accord before i get to this point.

I've heard apparently it's used by some midwives soaked on a pad on the tummy to also help with afterbirth!

Would be great to hear if this actually does help or if it's just another rubbish old wives tale!

Thanks xx

I'm also only petite 5'3(at a push) and was only a pathetic 8st6 before my pregnancy I've now put in 2 and half stone 😂 it's great! Although the weight of the bump is not too good when I'm used to being such a skinny mommy, (I am only 22 however so at least I'm not a geriatric 😂 your midwife is a cheeky bitch)

I am 4 f 11 and normally only 7st 8 I am 37 but didn't feel it till she said that. I thought what a stupid term for someone older to be called its not like I am 60 lol. My eldest thinks its hilarious I am still miffed about it. I am going the docs tomorrow it didn't even occur to me about my tonsils till my 5 year old said mum do u have a sore neck like get cause he gets it all the time and it clicked pain in the bum though. Yeah if ur over 35 ur geriatric apparently which I think these days is daft as a lot of women are having kids when they are older.

Shaunieh95 · 19/03/2018 00:41

Wow you really are tiny 🙊! It is a very daft term I don't think they really put into account the feelings of these (already very hormonal) women when they create these terms! Aw bless him - hopefully docs can fix you up!
You're not wrong, I always seem to be the baby of the maternity clinic and for a lot of people I know of I didn't think I was that much of a young FTM at first! My mum had me at 20 I've made another 2 years on her 😂🙈

I had my first when I was 18 but cause I am small I look younger and I could hear ppl whispering about me cause they thought I was 14 one time it annoyed me so much some woman going look at her the shame she must be 14 so I shouted I am actually 12 and walked off my mum was fuming with me lol. My hospital is mostly young women I feel old but my midwife defo made me feel older. I sometimes feel embarrassed going to see her now like I should be ashamed to be so old and pregnant but it never even occurred to me I was a old mum till she said it. I don't think u are that much of a young first time mum I think its just right u will have plenty of energy to be able to run around after the little one which is a good thing I run round after my 5 year old and feel shattered after 5 mins haha don't know where he gets all the energy from.

Shaunieh95 · 19/03/2018 00:51

Aww that's horrid! I'm loling at your 'I'm 12' though😂!

I look quite 'mature' for my age unfortunately 👀 (I honestly looked about 24 at 18 and have more lines than my mother-dads lovely early aging skin genes) so tbh don't really think anyone has ever batted an eyelid at me.

I wouldn't let her make you feel uncomfortable ! I'd go in making a point of how young and great I felt 😂! You're most definitely not an 'old' mum at all.

I don't feel young anymore well especially not at the moment I have spd so was walking home from the shops the other day and a 80 odd year old woman walked past me and stopped turned round and ask if I need help with my bags I was so ashamed haha. I don't need to see my midwife again now thankfully I asked if I needed an appointment for 40 weeks and 41 weeks and they just said no see u when u get induced lol. Guess they just think I am a old hand at this now. I find it odd that anyone should be made to feel to old or to young to have a baby. I always think its down to the woman and how she feels and if she feels ready to be a mum. God forbid if u turned round to ur midwife and said are u not to old to still be doing this haha. Cant wait for it all to be over though going to try the clay sage again tomorrow and just hope for the best. Really don't want to be induced just want to go naturally and soon.

Shaunieh95 · 19/03/2018 13:19

Went in for monitoring this morn and machine was picking up tightenings although couldn't feel them myself 😩! Starting to get a constant period pain like ache though so I'm hoping and praying it may just turn into something!!!

Shaunieh95 · 22/03/2018 22:16

Well I'm at the hospital at 8.30am for the deciding scan!

I'm still pregnant and will be getting my date tomorrow - if not kept in and induced tomorrow 😩.

Tried absolutely every single trick in the book - nothing works. Baby really will not come until ready!

Ragdolly81 · 22/03/2018 23:27

Good luck. I am still pregnant and feeling fed up had a sweep at half 11 after basically arguing my way into getting another appointment with the midwife. Been having contractions since 12 but not in any pattern sometimes as many as 6/7 a hour midwife said baby is extremely low she hardly had to feel for her as she was right there. I feel like every contraction she might just pop out.

Shaunieh95 · 23/03/2018 10:34

Well I've run out of time! 😩😩. Induction booked for tomorrow!

It really is true there's no natural way of induction 🙄🙄

OP posts:
Ragdolly81 · 23/03/2018 10:37

You will be fine I had my 1st by induction my 2nd came the day before I went in to get induced and my 3rd cam the day I went to get induced. I am now 40+6 and feeling like I might have to be induced again. Had 16 hours of contractions yesterday but they just stopped completely at 5am so now I am back in limbo just waiting it out again.

Ohyesiam · 23/03/2018 10:57

There is! Acupuncture! Worked in minutes for me.

Shaunieh95 · 23/03/2018 11:42

I'm hoping it's not a 7 dayer 🙈 aww @Ragdolly81 I'm sure it won't be long at all!

Our babies might share birthdays!

I am sue to be induced on Tuesday but hoping to go sooner. Felt so sure I was going to go yesterday. I am more scared cause ppl keep saying to me oh u might go quick and have her at home alone. Its made me super nervous so every pain I am hyper alert I live 30-40 mins away from the hospital so I am a bit panicked lol

Ragdolly81 · 24/03/2018 15:41

Had my little girl at 11:06 this morning. So made up its all over with
