Blood Pressure During Pregnancy

Hi, I'm probably getting paranoid but my normal pre pregnancy blood pressure is around 110 / 60 to 70. I'm now 28 weeks pregnant with my second child and at every anti natal appointment by blood pressure has gone up, it is now 140/82. The midwife didn't seem concerned as it is still in the normal range. But, I'm getting a bit worried that it is going to keep on creeping up and up. Has anyone else experienced this? Hi sweetverse when’s your next appointment? If you are concerned it’s worth speaking to your midwife or doctor so that they can reassure you. I’m 28 was too and an under consultant care for high blood pressure, albeit my bp is still within normal range at the moment, so I understand your concerns. It’s probably absolutely fine but worrying about it will possibly make it higher so it’s always worth investigating with your midwife. Hope you get some sense out of them. X

Mine was 118/70 at booking and 130/80 at 28 weeks. Midwife wasn't concerned.

Thanks everyone, I think I am just stressing out and being paranoid! I've got the midwife in a couple of weeks so if it is is any higher then I'll ask her what she thinks.

Could also be a bit of white coat syndrome, OP. If you're really worried, you could always buy a maternity blood pressure machine and test at home a couple of times a day when you're relaxed?

I'm 19 weeks second pregnancy and went to doctor with strep throat yesterday and was sent to triage with a BP of 160/104 z that's after 5 readings.

Doppler test of HB 😍
Urine test neg
Bp of 132/83 as average.

I think it was more due to the strep throat and temp i had but unless you get other symptoms then it's all good.

Have they recommended aspirin?

Mine creeps up when I'm pregnant, like now. But don't worry, if yours keeps going up they'll monitor you more regularly and put you on tablets if you need. Baby will be fine and you may just need to rest more. X
