Very breathless?

Is anyone getting this? Im 8 weeks and my usual walk to the station at a slower pace than usual left me so breathless/ struggling to breathe I feel like I've pulled muscles. It's quite sore and was not much fun.

I've also been having heart palpitations. Do I need to get myself to the doctor or do I mention it to the midwife next week at my booking in appointment? I'm pretty fit and have been exercising gently because I'm exhausted.

I'm having similar breathlessness. 9 weeks here. Don't have the palpitations but am planning on calling gp in the morning about the breathlessness. I can't get up stairs without needing 5 minutes to catch my breath. It's ridiculous! Didn't have this with my first pregnancy.

Please get your iron/ferritin levels checked - this can be a big symptom of low iron.

BumbleNova · 15/03/2018 21:09

Ok thanks! I'll get checked out. Yes I wondered if my iron might be low. I'm totally shattered too.

Sounds likely then. Good luck!

I have had palpitations too, I'm 27 weeks now and they aren't very frequent at all. I don't know if 8 weeks is a bit early so I would definitely get it checked out to be safe. I spoke to my midwife about mine and she said it was normal because of the extra volume of blood in your body but if they are happening very regularly then get an ECG to be safe.

I had this and I mentioned it to My midwife and was sent to A&E as pregnant women have a higher chance of having blood clots. I went to A&E got all checked over and was told it's one of those things.

Do mention it but don't be alarmed if they send you to A&E as it's hopefully just a precaution.

I've been suffering from low ferritin levels for the past couple of years & breathlessness & heart palpitations were my major symptoms. If you visit the GP for blood tests they'll be able to prescribe you some supplements.

Hope you start to feel better soon - I know how miserable it is!
