12 weeks and crying lots!

I’m currently 12 weeks pregnant and am crying a lot! Sometimes for a reason and other times for no reason at all! I don’t feel like myself at the moment and whilst I know this is probably due to hormones I’m wondering when this will stop or whether this will go on for the full 9 months?!

Any advice or experience would be gratefully received!

I was bloody awful until about 16 weeks or so. Absolutely everything would set me off, I could barely watch the bloody telly as anything remotely emotional would have me blubbing, it was so embarrassing!! Has gradually improved over time, I'm pretty much back to normal now at 26 weeks. It's probably different for everyone though.

Oh sweetie I feel for you. At about 11 weeks I watched beauty and the beast with my son. At the end where the piano and wardrobe become human again I was crying my eyes out. Then my son told me I looked pretty and I cried, everything made me cry. 13 week scan I cried like a baby. I'm blaming the hormones. I'm now 23 weeks and start to feel like I have a slightly grasp on my feelings xx

Thank you for getting back to me! I just want to feel like myself again but feels like it’s never going to happen!

So glad to hear it’s improved for you - there’s hope for me yet! Pregnancy is not what they make it out to be on tv!

OP - I’m glad it’s not just me. I too am 12 weeks and have been extremely emotional these past few days. I think it’s all to be expected and wouldn’t worry too much. The second trimester is meant to be a little easier!

34 weeks and I bawled like a Baby at the stand up to cancer bake off this week. The sad stories usually get me but this was waaaaaay above normal level of sadness. Its just your hormones love, it'll settle 2nd trimester then potentially come back with a vengeance in the 3rd
