Had a miscarriage at 8/9 weeks last year December 2017 and was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this? We saw the heartbeat at 6 weeks and heard it on 8th week. I know nothing is guaranteed but looking for thoughts and reassurance ...

Hi @Markygirl1995 ,

Sorry to hear about your mc; I too have read the same stats and tried to use them to calm myself down after a positive scan at 7w 5days following bleeding and pain.
Unfortunately at 8w 4days this escalated and I had an incomplete miscarriage ; I’m still waiting for it to complete ☹️
I guess someone has to be in the minority and I hope next time we’ll be in the majority 🤞🏻
I’m not sure that is quite the reassurance you were after and I truly hope next time goes well for you

I have recurrent miscarriages, I had three before my son and two more before this current pregnancy (17 weeks). I does rob you of the excitement in early pregnancy cos there’s just no knowing what will happen until you make it past the first trimester (all mine were before 12 weeks). Even now at best I’m cautiously optimistic rather than full on excited.

For me I just had to get past those first few months as easily as I could manage. Try not to think or worry about it too much and just wait and see what happens. Unfortunately whatever is going to happen will happen regardless so try to enjoy everyday your pregnant.

If the worst does happen, don’t get too down. This just seems to be the way for some people and it’s much more common than you’d think. Keep trying because each pregnancy is different and the next one may be the one that sticks!

Weirdly now I have my son and hopefully another one on the way, I do feel I enjoy motherhood so much more because it was such a difficult struggle to get here.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss 😞

Like the previous poster said, every pregnancy is different and this one might be the one to stick and is sounding promising so far having seen the heartbeat twice already.

I have suffered a couple of miscarriages, with my first being at 17 weeks and two before 12 weeks. I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and it has been a hard pregnancy in terms of worry and feeling anxious but I've just thought so positively and it has seemed to of helped me through the bad days. Take it day by day. Fingers are crossed for you xxx

Hi hun. Little bit of reassurance for you. I had one miscarriage last April and got pregannt again in November I'm now 20 weeks. It's stressful and you worry about every tiny thing. But you'll be fine! Wishing you the best of luck xx
