hi there, my last period was the 27th of january i took 3 pregnancy tests on the 28th of febuary and all 3 were positive results, on the 10th and 11th of march i had heavy bleeding and clots and was having a suspected miscarriage at around 6 weeks pregnant! i got an appointment for 3 days later on the 14th of march, on that morning before i want to my appointment i took 2 pregnancy tests and both were negative! but when i went to my appointment and had a scan there was still a baby although i was only 3 weeks pregnant? and my cervix was open? how is ir possible that i was getting positive results 2 weeks ago and negative results now if im only 3 weeks pregnant now how could i have been getting positive results 2 weeks ago but negative ones now unless i misscarried with twins and one survived? can anybody help im so confused ?

thanks

What did your doctor say? At 3 weeks I assume there is no heart beat. I'm not a medic but if the test is negative and you are measuring at 3 weeks with no heart beat it could be a missed miscarriage.

You need the sonographer or your GP to run through the situation with you.

i havent spoke to my gp as gp's dont really take anything to do with your pregnancy now, it was the midwife but all she said was that i was 3 weeks pregnant there was still a baby but my cervix was open which would suggest a miscarriage, but if im only 3 weeks then how is it possible i was getting positive results 2 weeks ago but negative ones before my scan today?

It's possible that the baby isn't growing properly and only measures 3 weeks in size instead of six. It sounds like at the moment you get to play the awful waiting game to see what happens. Sorry that you are going through this.
