Is this BP and heartrate normal?

Hi everyone.

I'm eight weeks pregnant with my first child and had my first midwife appointment today.

My BP was 121/75 and my heartrate was 100. This seems kinda high, but the midwife told me that your heartrate increases during pregnancy, and I may have been a bit nervous. I took my heart rate just now at home and it was 65! She didn't seem at all concerned and even said that everything was 'nice and normal', and that I'm considered low risk.

I did what you probably shouldn't do and contacted Dr Google, and every site I read said a BP of 121/75 was slightly higher than normal. Now I'm worried!

I'm 21 with a BMI of 22. No history of any illness or hypertension. I know that if the midwife wasn't concerned I shouldn't be, but being a natural worrier I'm, well, worrying! Grin

Have you told your midwife you're anxious? There is help available.

You have already been told your bp is fine but you are anxious so struggling to accept and manage the facts.

FWIW my bp in pregnancy is 80/50 and heart rate is 50. This would be considered low but is normal FOR ME. This is the key point.

'Average' BP is 120/80 so one point over is nothing really.

Thanks everyone. I know I'm just being overly anxious and silly.

That’s a brilliant blood pressure, pretty much bang on. Heart rate fine too. You need to relax.
