Hey wise ladies, i got an early scan yesterday on nhs as ive got pregnant using clomid for my pcos.
However when i went in yesterday there was an awkward long pause when she looked as they said it wasnt big enough for my dates. They found a heart beat though, but was only 90bpm.

She said its either alot earlier than i thought with my dates or it could be failing!

Because of how my cycle was tracked i could only be wrong by a couple days. Im just clinging to fact that measurements might be inaccurate?

Anyone had any experience of early scans with low measurements that went on to be successful?

Ive been told to go back in another two weeks for follow up scan (unless i miscarry in meantime!!). This feels like a torturously long wait to find out.
I’m worried and as its so early i hadnt confided in anyone yet to talk to about this. Except for my amazing DH of course!

Stories either way will help me prepare! Really wishing i demanded more tests somehow.

Thanks lovely ladies

Hi
I am currently 31 weeks pregnant and had this exact same thing at 6 weeks. The sonographer was really negative - said there was a heartbeat, but my the baby was measuring around 10 days too small. She told me to book another scan for 2 weeks later but to come prepared for the worst.
At 8 weeks, the baby was measuring at exactly 8 weeks again, and the (different) sonographer that time told me that the fact there was a heartbeat the first time should have been very encouraging.

I really hope that you have a similar story and that in 25 weeks time you are able to offer the same reassurance to someone else x

Thank you so much ladies! That's really good to hear hummingbird
The sonographer was really negative with me too. She didn't really talk through the possibilities aside from the negative. (Bedside manner is not big in this unit it has to be said 🤦‍♀️)
I was thinking 'but I am still pregnant now!' Let's just get excited for that currently.

I wish you lots of good vibes for your birth which must feel like it's coming round corner now! 😀

fingers crossed I can pass this reassurance on in future. Thanks x

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. And thoughts with you for the next 2 weeks, I know that wait was horrible.
