Currently 39 weeks pregnant, my waters broke this morning around 3 30.
I had period like pains initally and then some contractions. Since then, they have been less so, maybe one an hour.
Is it just a waiting game? Not sure if I should be doming to help along the process and trying not to get anxious.
Any advice is appricated!

Have you called triage? You are at risk of infection if left for too long after water's breaking.
Other than that, maybe try a walk? Or if you have a birthing ball, you could spend some time on that.
Good luck Flowers

What does your midwife advise you do? Walking around is a good plan, might get things moving. Good luck, hope it is speedy and painless Flowers

I’d call your labour ward to let them know what’s happened if you haven’t already. They may want you to come in if nothing progresses soon. As previous poster said there is risk of infection after 24 hours (I think).

Also recommend being as active as you can. All you can do really. Walk, birthing ball etc. I was in Tesco at 3am after mine broke (shame all the shops are shut!) Best of luck, fingers crossed your baby arrives today!

Thank you for your advice, everyone! I did go into the birthing centre this morning and they checked me over and sent me home.
We are acutally moving house today (madness!) so I have been pottering around, sorting out a few things trying to keep active.
I think I just have to wait until I feel the contractions. The lack of anyhting happening is just making me anxious!

I've heard marching up and down stairs helps. Also you shouldn't be allowed to go more than 48 hours after your water breaking due to infection. Keep ringing them for advice x

Keep phoning them until they get bored and tell you to come in. Have you got a pregnancy ball? Try bouncing on that if so.

I can’t believe you’re moving the day you’ve gone into labour!!!! lol. Go do some bouncing and get your OH to take over and get everything moved whilst you’re having newborn snuggles
