Thrush in first trimester

I am 10+2 and have had thrush for weeks.
Is candesten cream / pessary safe or not?

Tescos pharmacy refused to sell me any when I asked about it.

My doctor says yes it's safe and prescribed the pessary and cream for me - but the box says not to use in pregnancy.

My midwife said to use the cream (but not too much) but NOT the pessary.

I tried the natural yoghurt thing but am still a little itchy and just want it sorted. But I'm 10 weeks pregnant and do not want to do anything that might be the slightest risk. I'm confused about the box / my doctor / midwife / lady at the Tescos pharmacy all saying different things.

Anyone know??

I used it probably the same gestation as you my mw said it was fine. I bought it from the pharmacy but had a big jacket on so they couldn’t see I was pregnant. Plus I’ve read other threads where women have used pessary and cream.

I did check with my mw though x

Oh yes they advised not to put the applicator too far up either x x

My GP told me cream was safe but she wouldn't recommend the pessary in the first trimester, however it would be fine from second trimester on. So if I were you I'd try cream and see how you go - I can't imagine there's much of an increased risk from the pessary but if the cream works that seems fairly straightforward.
