Scan at 5 weeks 5 days.

Hi everyone due to 3 miscarriages and an ectopic the hospital wants to scan me Monday I'll be 5 weeks and 5 days and wondering what I'll be able to see and if this will actually give me any reassurance or if it'll just leave me more worried than anything?

I had a scan at 5 weeks as I was having to rule out ectopic and all they could see was a sac so they asked me to come back in 2 weeks so I was 7 weeks 1 days and the baby and heartbeat was visible 💗 But every scan and development is different

Sorry to hear about your experience. I have had 3 miscarriages and am on my 4th pregnancy (7 weeks). I’ve had a few scans over the time so hopefully I can add some insight.

At 5 weeks 5 days, the hospital should be able to see a yolk sac and the start of a foetal pole. I don’t think you can hear a heartbeat at this stage, but I had a 7 week scan today and the heartbeat was there.

Let us know how it goes!

You might not see a yolk sac or fetal pole at this point but should see a sac. If they don't see anything in the sac you will probably get called back in a week or two

I think it depends largely on position with dd1 they could see hb at 5+4. But don't expect this

Your welcome ☺️ Just stay strong and don't do what I done I presumed the worst when they said only a sac was present I spent 2 weeks telling myself nothing would develop to the point I broke down at my 7 week scan. But everything was okay and a it should of been so just remember it's not always possible to see heartbeat just yet x

I had a scan at 5+5 due to bleeding. They couldn't see anything. I ended up having an internal scan, where they were able to see more.

Just to be clear I mean it was a TV scan

I had a scan about the same time and we saw a hb. It was like a tiny fairy light flashing. The next scan 2 weeks later you could see an actual shape , they change so much so quick. Hope all goes well. I've been in your shoes and I know how anxiety inducing it is!
