Does this mean I'm about to miscarry?

I'm so upset

Not nesiserily Hun . I had a dark red bleed really heavy at 11+5 in my first pregnancy and they said it was the placenta hadn’t attached so it was from that then all was fine . It could be implant bleeding or something ? Maybe give the hospital a call and see what they suggest ! Hope all is wel xx

Dorabean · 09/03/2018 07:34

Not necessarily, I had this and I'm now 20 weeks. They told me it was implantation bleeding! Call your local EPU and they may see you if you're worried, it may also be too early though so they'd bring you back in 10 days-2 weeks. Hope all is well for you Smile

No. I’ve had this with all my pregnancies, and I’ve had both successful and miscarriages. Bleeding without pain isn’t usually an issue unless it’s heavy.

milney25 · 09/03/2018 07:57

I had this throughout the first 10 weeks. I'm now 20 weeks. 5 weeks is a normal time for implantation bleeding

brodiee · 09/03/2018 14:53

Ive had brown this morning and now a bit of bright red so I don't think it's looking good.

What do you do in this situation? Do I need to see a doctor? If so what would they do- just tell me to wait and see?

I am crushed 😞

Sorry just seen someone's said to contact my epu - can I contact direct or do I need a referral from my gp?

Go to your GP and get a referral to EPAU. Or a and e.

Fingers crossed. Bleeding in pregnancy is so frightening.

brodiee · 09/03/2018 15:31

Thanks. I just called my epu direct.

They said they can’t scan me as too early to see and that it sounds like it could be a miscarriage. She said i should take a preg Test in 2 weeks and if it’s a strong positive that’s good but if weak or negative that indicates a miscarriage.

She said if I had same level of bleeding I have now everydayflr a week - ie light bleeding then I need to contact them again

That’s ridiculous. I’ve been scanned at 5weeks before. Sorry they weren’t more helpful. Can you ask if your GP can do bloods? They can check two days apart to see if your hormone levels are dropping

brodiee · 09/03/2018 15:47

I'm going to wait and see what's happening after the weekend and go from there.

I guess they are too busy to see me or have a minimum gestation age they see ppl by

It's now pinky red. The amounts have been very small since the start. Less than a teaspoon each time. I'm not trying to get my hopes up but surely if miscarrying it'd be a lot heavier? I guess 5 weeks is so early probably not.

Sorry this is happening to you. You could consider a private scan, but it might not be very reassuring as you wouldn’t expect to see a heartbeat at this point.

CatsForgotPassword · 10/03/2018 09:17

When I miscarried at 4 weeks it was light.

But I’ve also had what you’re describing in a successful pregnancy.

Enigmam · 10/03/2018 10:39

I was scanned at 5 weeks on 2 occasions so it is possible.

milney25 · 10/03/2018 12:01

I got scammed under 6 weeks, but it didn't really reassure or tell me anything. All they could day was they could see a pregnancy, but not heartbeat. It was about 6 and a half weeks before they could see anything.

Brownbear84 · 10/03/2018 12:30

They can measure your levels! Ring them back and demand to be seen xxx

Snorebrown · 12/03/2018 06:19

How are you OP?

brodiee · 14/03/2018 06:53

I nearly passed out yesterday so I went in to epu. They scanned me and couldn't see anything but said may be too early to see. They said most likely miscarriage but are now monitoring my hcg levels to make sure they are falling as they are concerned I could be having an ectopic.

OP posts:
Snorebrown · 14/03/2018 07:48

I am so sorry to hear you are having a difficult time. Hang in there and see what the hcg results bring. Take care

brodiee · 21/03/2018 16:50

Unfortunately I have miscarried.
