Just got back from seeing the consultant today and trying to read what they have put in my green notes and can't read a single word!!

Anyone any good at reading unrecognisable writing?

Please help 😂

Once read mine upside down “elderly first time Mum” I was 36! Shock

moomoo85 · 08/03/2018 16:45

Not all of it

Bits of it look like
"Complaining of tigtenings, cervix short and efaced 1cm dilated"
"Urine normal" - not completely sure about this bit"
"Good fetal movements"

Does that fit with why you went in?

PaddyF0dder · 08/03/2018 16:56

Yikes.

I’m a doctor myself and I normally can translate any medical handwriting. But that’s a bit tricky.

The bits I think I can pick out...

  • weight normal
  • good foetal movements

There’s some other stuff I’m about 50% on, but not knowing the context I could be way off. But I don’t see anything worrying. If you felt comfortable giving some background info I could make a stab at the rest, but that’s up to you.

chickhonhoneybabe · 08/03/2018 16:58

What I can make out is...
Leucocytes +3 (LEU +3)
0:10 tightenings (means you’re not having any contractions)
VE - means they did a vaginal exam
Looks like SROM (spontaneous rupture on membranes. Means waters broken spontaneously) but can’t tell what it says after that.
1cm dilated (means your cervix is dilated 1cm)
8cm from (can’t read next word)

lemondrizzlecake448 · 08/03/2018 16:59

Does the second line say "8cm from pelvis"?

There's a skill in writing that illegibly!

HaPPy8 · 08/03/2018 18:29

C/O = complaining of tightening. VE (vaginal examination) Cx = cervix, short, effacted, 1cm dilated, had steroids. Scan growth velocity normal, good fetal movements, rescan for LV = liqor Volume and doppler in 1 week and growth in 2 weeks

sprinks · 08/03/2018 21:28

Thank you so much everyone!! You have all really helped :)

I think it’s growth velocity decreased (there’s a downwards arrow)
LV N (liquor vol normal)
Otherwise I would agree with happy.

Yeah I am classed as a geriatric pregnancy cause I am 37 anything over 35 thats what they class u as. Not very nice is it.

Sorry I can't help I am struggling to understand what my consultant wrote on my notes aswell. I am giving them to my older kids dad tonight to read as he is a ward manager and deals with doctors handwriting all the time. They really should write more clearly for us.
