Dry Mouth at Night - anyone else?

I never had this with my first pregnancy. It's horrid, keep waking up and having a drink as it hurts, but that only lasts about an hour before I wake again.
Seemed to have this problem for a week or so when I was about 6 months, it went by itself, and now has come back at 35wks.
It doesn't seem to be affected by heating on or off, so I'm in despair...
please tell me someone else has had this and it's going to stop when I've had my baby!!

Horrid isn't it. I had it for a few months. I found that drinking milk at night helped because it coats the throat, or fennel tea (but it's foul). I went between that and drooling constantly.

Pregnancy is so attractive!

HI FA - Is your nose blocked or do you have any other symptoms e.g. hayfever? Can be if you're breathing through your mouth when asleep... I've had it before and agree is horrible...

Hi, I haven't had a sore throat but I've been waking up with very dry lips to the point where they have sometimes split/cracked like its winter! I've started going to bed with vaseline on my lips to try and prevent it.

We sleep with the windows open - do you? Could it be that perhaps? I personally can't sleep without a window open but if you can cope with it, it might be worth a try?

Are we allowed to have throat lozenges in pg? Perhaps that could be something to try before you go to bed or when you wake up in the night?

Thanks girls - Hi NK! No, I haven't had any other symptoms, don't really get hayfever, no sore throat...we don't have the window open as I'm too scared of murderers climbing in so I have a feeling it's just being preggo. Oh the joys of motherhood...
I do sleep with my mouth open though have always done so...
Just found another thread like this by doing a search on MN - don't know how to link, sorry! But it does seem to be PG related from the general consensus on there.

Hope you all find relief soon too - thank the lord, only 5 weeks of it to go before the other kind of sleeplessness kicks in!!
