Maternity leggings recommendations

Ladies please recommend me the best black maternity leggings. I am 19 weeks and in desperate need of clothes that fit and are comfy. Is it worth spending £20+ for seraphine/ jojo or are H&M’s, new look, etc just as good? M&S appear to get good reviews but currently only size 18 and 20 available on website.....help!

I have 2 pairs of asda maternity leggings and they have been great. They are elasticated enough to stay up in the early weeks and stretchy enough to still fit me at 38 weeks and counting. Thick enough too, so they don't show my pants or legs through. Very reasonably priced too.

My M&S ones are really good so far - hopefully they'll get more in stock soon in your size! Not tried any others yet, but I do need to get myself to Boots too for maternity tights!

I got a two pack of black maternity leggings to get me through these last months. Think it was £15 for the pair. They’re decent although with washing and wearing so much they’ve now started to bobble

DinoSn0re · 08/03/2018 10:35

Asda are good for the price. New Look are poor quality, the hems went and they had holes in the knees very quickly!

mynameismrbloom · 08/03/2018 10:40

Debenhams had some great ones. Not fantastic quality but did the job. (Few years ago now though, don't know if they still do them.)

Friend got EVERYTHING from Seraphine and it was in such good condition she sold it all on eBay later. Got some really good prices!

I liked the £15 topshop maternity ones. The £12 ones with topshop on the band are too see through.

mynameismrbloom · 08/03/2018 11:17

Oooh yes, forgot TopShop. they have some great maternity clothes and at a reasonable price.

Do you know what, by far the best leggings I've found for this stage of pregnancy when you don't have a massive bump, but need that extra room, is Mint Velvet. They are thick, high waisted and seriously comfy.

GMtoBe · 08/03/2018 11:20

Another vote for Asda. DD is 5 months and I'm still wearing them because they're so comfy!

Opticabbage · 08/03/2018 16:05

Agree with pp. Topshop, but not the very cheapest. My m&s ones have faded badly.

Sittingintheshade · 08/03/2018 16:08

New look ones are decent quality material but are long on me (ok with boots though). They’re on their second pregnancy and still doing well.
Mothercare ones were crap quality, thin and each pair has ripped in the leg. I’ve only been wearing them since October. Not recommended although they are a good length for me

Kittypillar · 08/03/2018 16:10

Another vote for M&S ones - get some when they come back in stock, so good! I have some New Look ones too but they get baggy so quickly!

aquariel · 08/03/2018 16:12

Perhaps I'm just a cheapskate but I just bought leggings in bigger size(s) from primark ... £1.80 a pair. I bought three pairs and pretty much lived in them the last two months of pregnancy

Origamoo · 08/03/2018 16:16

Asda George ones for me, they’re really comfy

Loosemoose28 · 08/03/2018 16:19

Don’t bother with Mothercare mine are a bit see through. Fine for long tops/ jumpers but I would make sure my bum is covered before leaving the house Grin

champagneplanet · 08/03/2018 16:21

Mine were Dorothy Perkins, wore them afterwards for a few weeks as well. They were nice and long in the leg which I needed.

ClareB83 · 08/03/2018 16:43

H&M were really comfy but got hole in the seam after a couple of months. Trying Next instead but not sure they'll stretch enough for full term.

Barnaclesbrother · 08/03/2018 19:16

Thanks guys- ordered some from Asda who also have low stock and will keep and eye on M&S.... following from the other thread I went to boots for tights on my way home!
