Sinus pain

I'm currently 23 weeks pregnant and suffering from nasal congestion and sinus pain.
Usually I'd take some Sudafed spray and a cold/flu tablet containing a decongestant and get on with it.
Anyone know what's safe to use in pregnancy? Only had paracetamol so far which has done very little.
Thanks in advance.

I had terrible sinusitis over Christmas and ended up at the GP in tears because I couldn't eat or sleep due to severe pain.
She just said to steam using menthol crystals (I used Vicks) and to take full dose paracetamol. To be honest this didn't help me at all!

I did loads of facial massage movements and pressure points as I was willing to try anything!!
Menthol chewing gum was sometimes helpful but only when my teeth / jaw weren't in agony.
Also, I would place a hot water bottle literally on my face or resting on my chest which probably provided the most relief and would help with congestion. Keep the heating on and make sure your rooms are warm.

You can't really take anything that helps. I took maximum dose of paracetamol and spent 3 weeks fantasising about shooting myself in the face.

Sinus rinsing! I got a thing from Boots called NeilMed which is a bottle with saline sachets. It's not an instant fix but do it a few times each day and it will help. I use it now as soon as I feel a cold coming on to help prevent the inevitable sinus infection.

oyster you made me laugh because that's exactly how I felt after my last bout.

During pregnancy I used parcetamol and sterimar nasal spray which was ok.

Oh I feel your pain :( literally. I'm just coming to the end of the same. I steamed my head often, put hot hot facecloth on my face, massaged my face lots, and generally whinged and cried... Wasn't sure what I could take either, so stuck to paracetamol when I really couldn't cope. That didn't do much though :( I hope you find relief soon. It's horrific.

Vicks do a salt water spray. Not pleasant but did help. Also look for sterimar- same idea as otrivine nasal spray but salt water and says it is ok during pregnancy on label. You can get both in boots.

Thank you for your replies, I used steam and a menthol 4head stick rubbed onto my sinus areas which worked but my eyes ran lots lol.
