Contractions at 19w?

Ok it’s likely not but very nervous. Last night I had cramps on and off VERY painful ones (crawling around the floor not knowing what to do with myself) and had to dash to the loo with the runs (sorry tmi) tonight they have returned but have a more contraction like feel, more on and off and getting more frequent. Very nervous as my last pregnancy was littered with complications (although not related to contractions or early labour) can anyone shed some light? In a lot of pain Sad

I'd call triage asap at maternity please x

CobaltRose · 07/03/2018 20:29

If you've got the runs it may be a stomach bug (they can be very painful), but I'd call your midwife or hospital ASAP just to be on the safe side. Are you bleeding at all?

Lovenluck · 07/03/2018 20:29

Definitely call triage and see what they say! Fingers crossed it isn’t contractions but maybe a tummy bug or something is brewing but it sounds like it needs to be checked!!

Good luck OP! X

Could it just be an upset tummy? I'm 15 weeks and had bad stomach pains for weeks on and off and had diarrhoea also. Sometimes lasts day's and it's so uncomfortable it's woken me up in the night. I don't know wether it's because digestion slow's and everything's squished or something I'm eating? Everything's great with the baby I might add. If you're worried please see the MW especially with previous complications. Hope you feel better soon x

Call hospital and see someone on the pregnancy/labour ward. They will probably ask you to go in for monitoring at least. Good luck, hope all is ok xx

GreenMeerkat · 07/03/2018 20:40

It sounds like stomach cramps you get with a gastro-virus.

Either way, I'd get checked out at triage as tummy bugs aren't great at the best of times, let alone when pregnant. Make sure you drink plenty too.

I'm not a doctor, this is just speaking from personal experience (has a stomach bug at 35 weeks, thought i was in labour), so please do get checked out ASAP

I had the exact same when I was pregnant and and ended up going to A&E as I was in that much pain. It was just a stomach bug though, maybe the pains just worse when you're pregnant? Definitely ring the MAU though just to be safe. Hope you're feeling better soon Thanks

QueenCassiopeia · 07/03/2018 20:46

FallenAngel yes i’m worried it’s just a tummy bug and I’ll cause all that fuss for no reason- how do you know if it’s contractions or not? That’s probably the stupidest question I’ve asked this week Sad

fallen I wouldn't worry about how stupid it seems, just get some peace of mind my dear. It's always always worth being checked over. I hope you feel better soon.

lightoflaluna · 07/03/2018 21:20

I had a stomach bug last week that felt cery similar to my contractions. They were stopping me in my tracks. You won't be wasting their time if you get checked out. Best to be safe.

FallenAngel89 · 08/03/2018 16:18

If ever you're worried get checked over the midwives are on call 24/7 and will never make you feel "silly" . Hope you managed to get some sleep OP & everything's ok x
