We have our first nhs antenatal class tonight and I’m a little bit nervous (ok, really nervous) not quite sure why? It’s our first baby so we are totally clueless! What was everyone else’s classes like? Fun? Awful? Full of anxiety? Im 24 and my husbands 25 so I reckon we will be quite young which is not helping the anxiety of tonight! Mixed emotions as I’m excited to learn but nervous that we won’t make friends...ahhh!! Share your experiences to calm me down please ☺️

I'm still in touch with all the girls from mine! We had a great group, real mix of ages. I was 29 and on the younger end but it didn't matter at all. Classes itself were fine, no new info really and plenty cringey ice breakers but nice to chat to people in the same position as you!

It’s the cringey ice breakers I’m dreading the most 🙈 why just why!!

Our classes were more just information giving, we didn't really get an opportunity to talk much to the other couples. I was fine with that though. We had 3 x 2 hour sessions that covered labour, birth and pain relief and then some stuff on bathing, feeding and changing and finally some baby first aid. Not tons of new information for me personally but it was useful to get some info on what protocols there are in my nhs trust and what we can expect/will be offered.

I loved mine, they were really fun and not cringe at all :)

I was 20 and made friends, you'll be fine.
