Potty shots/sex of baby

Is this a potty shot?
And if so what gender is baby?
I have no idea what I'm looking at but going through my scan photos this is the only thing that looks similar to other peoples "potty shots"

@RLOU88 They don't document gender in my area they won't even tell you at the scan if you ask!! No idea why! Totally confusing myself

And I also agree, still looks like a girl!

@Oysterbabe do you think it just looks swollen then? I think it looks like it's protruding!

And I'm confusing myself further because I've been told to look for a "turtle" for a boy which is kinda what it looks like but inside the body behind the white lines if that makes sense?? With the bright white bit being the "head of the turtle" but again it looks inside the body than outside

God I'm confused

That explains why it looks more girly in one picture and could be interpreted as a boy in the other!

When someone is told the wrong sex at a scan (there is a thread on here at the moment about it)
Most of the times the scans were done at the wrong time or by a crap sonographer!

I got told the wrong gender and am having a boy, not a girl like they originally told me but

OP- Do you want me to send the lastest pic to my aunt to find out what it is a pic of for you? I can’t believe they won’t document the sex.

If you are really driving yourself mad you could maybe get a local private scan (I think they are about £50 for just the gender scan)? I don’t know how much your invested to find out now haha!

@user1499786242 yeah I wasn't told by any sonographers anything or even that these were under leg shots they could be armpits for all i know

I'm just deciphering things and muddling myself up cause one looks like a definite girl but the other one is iffy I still think it looks girly but more protruding so making me think boy, thank god I don't have that long left I'm getting so impatient!!

@RLOU88 yeah I have heard it more common to be told a girl and the boys bits are hiding than the other way round... which is part of the reason we didn't find out as it's not 100% anyway!!

Yes please re the aunt - you are so helpful I think you are as invested in this as me hahah

I discussed with my partner about a gender scan but he says we have waited this long there's no point, and again it's not 100% so we still wouldn't rush out to buy blue or pink!

@user1499786242 yeh that one is definitely obvious, and is obvious it's an underneath shot as u can see the 2 thigh bones... mine could be anything as far as im concerned although @RLOU88 aunt who is a sonographer said definite potty shot.

Haha I am so invested in this- have sent to my aunt so wil get back to you as soon as I hear. She said it was defiantly a potty 🤢shot though and that baby was a girl. I don’t think your going to 100% believe either way until baby arrives are you xx

@ user- at the time I was told I was only 15 weeks so it was completely my fault for asking them early. Baby was crossing his legs for the two scans I had after but then finally un crossed them a private scan and I could clearly see boy. X

No I probably wont believe until baby is here - I am such a sceptical person as you can probably tell haha! I have been looking at all the tiny little dresses in shops though and cant believe I might get a chance to buy them after 6 years of buying boys things haha! I will be extremely happy either way though baby's health is most important!! xx

I've had 3 scans, all within the correct time frame
All very clear
Have very obvious scan pictures

And I still don't believe it
So I think some people are just more sceptical and if you've waited this long you might aswell wait!

@user1499786242 I think that's what it is even though the first one looks very obvious when I saw the other one I'm not so sure and putting doubts in my head!

Yeah defo agree that we've waited this long so not going out my way to have it confirmed it's all just guesses for fun at the moment!!

I think the new pic still looks like a girl. In fact it's quite a good pic as you can see the labia either side, the classic 'burger' look. Have you been hoping for a girl?

There's a site called ingender.com where you can post your pics on the forum, the posters there are very accurate, post your 12 week scan pics so they can see the nub as well as the later scan pics. Make sure you tell them your dates at the time of the scans.

@Rikalaily I did wonder about the burger thing I'm just confusing myself! I'm not fussed either way which is why we haven't found out cause we not fussed I'm literally just being nosey now!!

I have posted on ingender they have also all said girl haha! Still second guessing myself after the second photo tho

Aunty said photo is of girly bits she didn’t actually use those words to me on the phone but that’s how I’m translating it haha I asked her how sure she is and she said she had been a sister and midwife for 45 years and it’s a baby girl. If a boy comes out I’ll be very very shocked!!!

@RLOU88 thank you again for going out ur way for me!! Still a niggle baby might shock me but I think it's because when I was scanned with my son I saw an obvious willy whereas girls bits are much harder to tell!!

Honestly, after 13 years of seeing girls bits on scans, I would bet my car on your baby being a girl

I totally get the shock, my eldest is a boy, I didn't get to see his bits on a scan as they just did it all fast and gave you a fleeting glance of the baby at the end, didn't even get given pics of his dating scan (done at 9w back then). Since then I've had 4 girls in the last 13 years and seen burger after burger each time. I was conviced my 4th was a boy, the only one my instincts have been wrong on, I was so shocked when they said girl I made them check again and show me, lol. When they showed me the 'potty shot' this time, even though I'd felt he was a boy all along and I'd seen the 'potty shot' when I was scanned at 13+4 and was pretty sure he was a boy from that, I was still totally shocked when his meat n two veg were there right in front of my eyes. We have a growth scan in two weeks and I'll be getting them to check again even though it's totally obvious from the scan pic, I still can't get my head around having a boy again, my eldest turns 16 next month!

Aw congratulations that's so lovely getting another boy after so long, although you are a bit mad having 6 (?) kids!! how long do you have left to go?

I feel a bit mad having 6! I'm 26 weeks, but expecting to go a week past dates (my last 4 pregnancies have gone 2 days longer each time!). Still trying to choose a name.

Can I ask where/when you all got these (ahem) potty shots? Private scans? Just because I only got the usual side view pics at my scans and don’t even remember seeing any shots from this angle....

There are companies that do 'gender scans'
Type 'baby gender scans near me' and there should be plenty of results
Baby bond is one
Or window to the womb!

They may tell you at your nhs 20 week scan but are quite unlikely to print out a potty shot as they don't like to officially tell you the sex!
But the private places will go through what they see and get the 'potty shots' for you!
