Potty shots/sex of baby

Is this a potty shot?
And if so what gender is baby?
I have no idea what I'm looking at but going through my scan photos this is the only thing that looks similar to other peoples "potty shots"

@anotherchangetomyname that's what I've been thinking incase it's the wrong angle. How far on were you as I'm 30 weeks? Never saw anything resemble a willy during the scan tho just kept seeing the white lines but I'm not convinced either way

Way it was explained to me is 3 lines = hamburger = girl.

Hotdog = boy.

@gryffen yeah I have heard this too although I dont know what they mean by hotdog haha! have seen the "turtle" thing mentioned though

As a PP mentioned it is possible to get three lines from this angle but the lines would be away from the body, your pic is a clear girl shot. Surprised the sonographer included this pic if you didn’t want to know what you want were having tho as it’s a clear girl!!

Most definitely a girl, and yes it's a 'potty shot' (hate that term)

I had a scan at 30 weeks the day before I gave birth to dd and this looks exactly like hers, I didn't want to find out but there was no mistaking that.

@coffeeX10 I did wonder as the three lines look like they are within the body rather than protruding! Yeah I was surprised when I saw it too

@nursenancy43 im not sure but guessing around 18 week mark just due to the size of babies being about the same size as my little girl when i had my scan and your welcome 😊

The only thing im not convinced about is it definitely being a shot from under the legs!! As the sonographer never said thats what it was but I'm struggling to think what else it could be!

Right I’ve just had my mums sister who is a midwife and trained sonographer look at it from Spain (I hope you don’t mind but you wanted an opinion from a professional I think) it’s a shot from under the legs and do you want to know her professional opinion ?

This is my DDs scan but I’d say yours is definitely a girl!

Yes it is definitely a shot from under baby (I can’t use the other word haha) and the scan is typical of a girl. The reason you can see the three lines so clearly (which is the labia) is baby didn’t have much fat under the skin yet. Once baby gets bigger the labia can become chubbier and therefore rarely but can be confused for male parts. Your pic I am told is quiet clearly a baby girl.

@RLOU88 thanks very much for going out your way for a professional opinion for me!! Yeah I thought it was too clear to be true I think I'm totally second guessing myself! It does make sense though I've heard people saying even if it sticks out it can still be swollen girls bits but I don't see any sort of protrusion on mine at all!

Oh my god sorry everyone I have a plot twist Hmm

Have spent today looking through the hundreds of pictures I took on my phone of the screen whilst I was being scanned and seen this one.... I'm not sure if it's a coincidence but I think it's a leg at the top and it looks like genitals to me.. but I think it looks like boys??

I don't know why I'm so invested in this after not wanting to find out!!! Anyone any opinions??

Call your midwife and ask lol your driving yourself crazy ! I’m sure she/he will be able to tell you on the phone perhaps?

How many weeks were you at the scan?

The best time to tell the sex is from 16-24 weeks
Before or after that it's often misinterpreted
As before that they aren't formed enough and after 24 weeks they can get squashed and therefore a girl could look like a boy or vice Versa!
