Potty shots/sex of baby

Is this a potty shot?
And if so what gender is baby?
I have no idea what I'm looking at but going through my scan photos this is the only thing that looks similar to other peoples "potty shots"

@pittcuecothecookbook it doesnt matter to us either I was just asking if this is a between the legs shot as I'm sure some people on here will be more experienced with scans than me.

So you're going to find out, which i suppose is my point a bit. Well, seems like you have. I just don't see why you wouldn't ask the trained sonogropher but then come on here and ask mumsnetters. At least you can get your head round it's a girl now and not a boy 😊 congratulations.

@Pittcuecothecookbook Well I didnt plan to find out but when I saw this picture I did some guesswork based on other scans and think I have now!! I'm not banking on it being a girl though as I've heard of people having these "3 lines" and the willy was hiding haha! Won't be rushing out to buy colours either way

Having done a 22week working placement with a sonographer on a maternity ward I can 100% say this picture is typical of a girl. Going roughly on measurements for gestation,a boy would definitely have a visible penis and testes at this stage. Youre right though, this is a photo between the legs from below. The awful term potty shot is said to have come from the angle to find the gender often being the position a child would sit on a potty (from the bottom, legs out in front)

@RLOU88 that is exactly what it is I have been looking at "nub theory" etc for my 12 week scans for weeks and tormenting myself half wishing we had found out! But when I saw this I thought it looked more girly than anything, thank you so much for your congratulations!

@TartanDr3ams thanks for your opinion particularly with having experience in sonography! Yeah I am 30 weeks my son had a definite visible penis at 20 weeks, but as said above I wont be rushing out to buy pink as I still have doubt in my head about a willy being hidden somewhere!!

Yeah that makes sense, I was just referring to it as that so people knew what I was talking about!

Ive now been looking at posts online that say 3 lines can mean a boy too hahaha I am no further forward in believing either sex someone stop me from this madness!!! All will be revealed in 10 weeks time!!

You would have seen the penis and testes in that picture there isn’t anywhere for it to hide really Grin listen to the professional on this board or call your midwife and ask because I want you to know now 😂Grin

@RLOU88 I think I just can't get my head round that it could be a girl after thinking boy! I'll just drive myself crazy for another 10 weeks til baby is born will be lovely either way!

Yes :) I am having a boy! Funny story because at my early scan the NHS told me he was a girl- I was convinced I was having a boy so went private when baby was bigger and could clearly see he boy bits haha still haven’t found a new name (although have stopped calling him Sophie now) lol

@RLOU88 aw lovely congratulations!! This is partly why I didn't find out this time heard so many people being told the wrong gender!! They say mums just know don't they altho as said up thread I was convinced my son was a girl until 20 week scan, he's 7 now!

Everyone pretty unanimous this looks like a girl and I agree however I'm just thinking if this isn't even a potty shot after all and the willy is tucked on top or something Hmm oh well who knows!!

Definately a girl, boys can show as 3 lines if they don't get the imaging right but the three lines would be further away from the body. Your scan pic is really clear and definately a girl, I have 4, and have seen lots of girly bits on scans! Here's the 'potty shot' of the boy I'm currently carrying...

This was my potty shot,

He had his left leg kind of crossed over his right so kind of looks like he only has one leg lol! I've circled the part in between 😂 (he's clearly a he lol)

@Rikalaily @Shaunieh95 yeah both yours are definite boys this is what I was looking for on the scan a proper willy like I saw on my sons, but didn't see anything and my scan doesn't show anything protruding between the legs at all so yeah I'm leaning girl for mine! Thanks both for posting

That's what DS looked like at that angle. The sex scan angle is very slightly different.we thought girl when we saw it!
