Anyone expecting DC3?

So... I've just found out I'm pregnant again! I already have DD5 and DS2, so this will be baby no 3!

Anyone else on their third pregnancy? Everyone I know seems to have stopped at two, so I have no one IRL to talk to.

Care to share? What will you be doing the same/ differently this time around? I plan to buy my first brand new pram with a parent facing option (finances didn't allow for the others!)

Just a thread for general chat really!

Congratulations i am expecting no 3 as well but my youngest will be 6 so a little bit more self sufficient than yours.
I'm planning to get a new pram and car seat too. Had new for the 1st one but its a bit old and shabby now.

I'll be doing everything the same I think why change it if it isn't broken. Had spd on 2nd pregnancy and that put me off for a long time so hoping to avoid it this time.

twobambinos · 06/03/2018 16:31

A few of my friends have 3 to be fair but no more than 3 by any of them yet.

FranticallyPeaceful · 06/03/2018 16:31

Currently 29 weeks with my third. I’m not sure what I’m doing differently, other than (much to my dismay) sleeping less, relaxing less, stressing more and not really buying much because I’ve realised I don’t need that much.

I’m buying a bugaboo though, so that’s nice. I never bothered with a nice pram last times but I also hardly used a pram that much (used a sling) so I’m not even sure why I’m doing it other than feeling like I’ve not got much 🤔

FranticallyPeaceful · 06/03/2018 16:31

And mine are 11/7

Hulaballoo · 06/03/2018 18:02

I'm 23w with my 3rd, I have 2DDs 7& 10... There's lots around here with 3,4 and some with 5 children! So I don't feel too out of place. Not sure what I'll do differently... Going to shopping wear more, Go to more baby grouped to

Skyechasemarshalontheway · 06/03/2018 18:04

This is my 5th pregnancy but 3rd child.

I have a ds 6 and dd3 and a ds due in july.

Hulaballoo · 06/03/2018 18:05

Woops posted too soon ..
Will try and see if baby can sleep in our room a bit longer, buy less clothes... Head everything 2nd hand last times so doing there danger again.

blinkineckmum · 06/03/2018 19:39

Due any day with dc3. I have a 4yo and a 2yo.
I haven't thought about doing things differently. I have the 2yo in preschool one morning a week, as her bro is there 3 mornings, so I will have a few hours with the baby, which I didn't have last time.
The first 2 were pretty easy - breastfed well. Napped when tired. Didn't cry much. Slept in a moses basket then a cot at 3 months... but I do still stay with them both until they fall asleep so that might have to change!
Single buggy plus sling. The 4yo will have to walk. Or we'll use the car more...
2yo doesn't nap unfortunately, and now we have to get out in the mornings for preschool so that's different to last time.
But now the bigger 2 have each other to play with.

How have you found being pregnant this time around? I'm still very early (5 weeks ish) so no symptoms as yet. I remember the extreme tiredness and I'm worried how I'm going to cope!

I have had two relatively easy pregnancies, but I'm not a happy pregnant person. I don't enjoy it (though obv it's worth it for the end result).

Three seemed like a good idea...

I am also expecting dc3 - am due in July - am quite scared as I am not good at being tired - so not looking forward to that part. My older two will both be in school from Sept (4 and 6) so will have school run to do essentially hoping for an easy baby who slots in with life and not for crazy non sleeping / crying monster (dd1)...

Cookie1831 · 06/03/2018 19:46

Hi OP also preg with number 3 DS5 and 3, not doing anything different really alloart from buying a lot less and trying to relax and enjoy as this is the last! Congrats on your pregnancy x

Cookie1831 · 06/03/2018 19:47

Apart

Klake17 · 06/03/2018 19:48

Congratulations! I’m 5 weeks with my 3rd too, will have a 5yr old and 3yr old when baby arrives in November!

RicStar · 06/03/2018 19:49

I found the first trimester hard tired and nausea all the time tbh but that has eased and am feeling ok for now. Having older ones is a big distraction they focus me on the immediate nicely. They also ask random things about the baby and baby making which are quite fun.

Steeley113 · 06/03/2018 19:51

I’m 35 weeks with my 3rd! I have the same age gaps as you too. It’s been a tough pregnancy, I’m really starting to feel the exhaustion now. This time round I’ve bought less, I knew what works and what doesn’t in general so it’s streamlined my shopping! My hospital bag barely has anything in because I know it doesn’t get used... I’m generally just more relaxed in general x

twobambinos · 06/03/2018 19:54

I've found this pregnancy tough so far with nausea vomiting tiredness and heartburn and two older kids to try and please but my dh has really stepped up. I'm not working at the moment so haven't had the complication of trying to function at work so at least one less thing to worry about and have been doing the bare minimum housework but I think it is starting to ease a bit now.

I'm looking forward to telling my dds but. Not for another while as I'm not ready for all the is the baby here yet qs

Knittingteapot · 06/03/2018 19:55

I could have written both of your posts! 15 weeks with no. 3. Also have DD5 and DS3. They'll be nearly 6 and 4 when this one arrives. I'm knackered... I hate being pregnant. Sickness, heartburn, aching all the time and the first trimester dragged like anything. The kids are really excited though and can't wait for the baby to be here!

Hotpinkangel19 · 06/03/2018 20:10

I've just had my 4th baby 😊

Lavenderdays · 06/03/2018 20:39

Expecting dd3 in a couple of weeks. DD1 is 11 and DD2 is 4.5 (starts school in September).

Each pregnancy has got harder for me (maybe because I'm older now and I seem to have got bigger/put more weight on with each pregnancy), plus other dc's to care for.
Have done minimal housework this time (despite not working).
Streamlined things to buy...have bought a crib not a moses basket this time so dd can stay in it longer (similar price to moses basket) whilst nursery is being sorted, other things have been cleaned such as pushchair which was shoved in the garage.

chocolatefudgecake157 · 06/03/2018 20:40

I'm 27 weeks with no.3. Have DS3 and DS1 and expecting another DS. Happy accident.

I'm so busy I forget I'm pregnant most days. We've had to buy a new car and also bought a new car seat as ours was a bit knackered.

Have bought one new outfit.

So tired and fed up I long for bedtime all day

I tell myself it will all be worth it in the end

whoami24601 · 12/03/2018 20:37

Sorry I haven't been on in a few days - I have a really old phone so can only update when I log in on my laptop!

Nausea and tiredness has kicked in now - spent the weekend laid on the couch at every available opportunity!

How is everyone else coping?

OP posts:
chocolatefudgecake157 · 18/03/2018 20:50

Sorry the nausea has kicked in. I've been lucky as mine disappeared around 10 weeks although on Thursday evening I did have a wave of terrible nausea and had to lie down and breathe through it until DH turned up 30 mins later and held my hand. Horrible feeling.

Although might have had something to do with the jam doughnut I ate in 10 seconds while dancing with the boys before bathtime!

All ok here, tired and not having any fun. Having to watch my caffeine intake because I've been very very lax this pregnancy. I avoided it the first time around but now I can't get through the day without a coffee, 3 teas and masses of choc Blush

Had midwife appointment earlier in the week and she was pushing for a home birth but I don't think it's for me. Anyone else thinking of a home birth or have any experiences to share?

Crapbags · 18/03/2018 21:12

@chocolatefudgecake157
I’m 39weeks with DC3 and am planning a home birth. I have had home births with both previous DC too. For me it was mainly because I get quite anxious when in hospitals and hated the thought of staying in one overnight alone with a baby.

I had fantastic care with both births always a minimum of two midwives with me for the whole time, which I have heard is not usually comparable with hospital births and by the time I actually delivered there were 3midwives (one student). It was very relaxed I had a birthing pool a tens machine and used gas and air which the midwives brought.

It was lovely that I could get straight into my own bed too. I totally get that some people feel more relaxed in hospital but for me home was the better option. I did always keep an open mind with it though making sure I packed a hospital bag and was prepared just in case we had to transfer in.
