Just turned 36 weeks. Baby a bit quieter yesterday evening and today. I do suffer with anxiety though so perhaps I am reading too much into it and when I get anxious it does get a bit quiet. Anyway - I'm thinking of going and getting checked a t the assessment unit but I would need to take my 2.5 year old with me as we have no family or childcare locally. Is this allowed?? Thankfully not had to go in for monitoring so far this pregnancy x

Yes, I've seen children up at triage before. My local has children's books and a few toys too.
Hope everything goes well for you Flowers

Better to take them and get checked out than not go!

But what are you doing for the birth?

Will ring my parents or in laws when I go into labour and they will come over. Dad works and mum doesn't drive and they live over an hour away so not easy to ask them to come over now when I'm 99% all is ok and it's just me being paranoid. In laws also over an hour away. Hubby also working away at the no for a few days - typical! Will see how it goes over next few hours then if no change will just have to go in with grumpy toddler! They'll love me!

I am planning to take my 2yo and 4yo with me this afternoon if no change. Hope all is well for you.

Did you go get checked?
Hope all's ok Flowers

Just go, don't wait around if you're worried about movements. I've had to take my toddler to triage twice with me during my pregnancy. The midwives never minded, they even brought him toys and a biscuit to keep him occupied

Bluebirdsky · 07/03/2018 14:48

Absolutely, go in and take the little one with you. If all is well you won't be there for too long, maybe try and take a few small things with you that could help keep LO entertained whilst you are there and some snacks.
Always better to get checked out in these circumstances.

I took my 3 Yr old last week and they were fine. Hope everything's ok.
