Reduced movement for 5 days - 35 weeks

laura1306 · 05/03/2018 17:45

My baby just will not move! The only movement I've had in 5 days is the hiccups 3 times and that's only lasted around 2/3 minutes as opposed to the usually twice a day he'd never seem to stop having them and I've had a slight roll or small stretch but I've really had to stop and focus to feel this. My partner has given my belly a poke and a prod and a shake and the most he got in 12 hours was one small foot pop up and go back down again. I'm too worried to ring the hospital because we don't drive so it involves ringing family and getting childcare for my boy and I don't like to make a fuss. I'm also worried they'll stick me on a ctg and see he's not moving at all and want to keep me in or induce me soon. Help please!

You really need to go to hospital asap.

angelopal · 05/03/2018 17:47

You need to go and get seen now. Hiccups are not movement.

Fruitcocktail6 · 05/03/2018 17:48

You need to get it checked out. Seriously.

mogulfield · 05/03/2018 17:54

I hope you’re on your way to the hospital. Any reduction in movement should be checked out.

Girlwiththearabstrap · 05/03/2018 17:56

Please go to triage now. Hope you are ok.

Dreamingofkfc · 05/03/2018 17:59

You need to be seen, reduced movements is not normal. I'm sure your family will understand

YorkshireLawyer · 05/03/2018 18:01

Go to hospital now. Yes, they probably will stick you on a CTG, possibly do a scan. If - IF - they discover the reduced movement is concerning, then surely you would rather they keep you in for monitoring or induce you?

boomboom1234 · 05/03/2018 18:02

I know you are scared but you do need to go in. It's always better to check.

3boys3dogshelp · 05/03/2018 18:02

You really have to go and get seen straight away tonight. Please don’t wait. If they do keep you in for monitoring or induce you it’s because it’s in your baby’s best interests. Hope everything is ok.

SweepTheHalls · 05/03/2018 18:03

Make a fuss. Your baby's well being depends on it. It. Might be nothing, but it might be something and neither you nor us can tell. Ring Labour ward and talk to them.

LunarGirl · 05/03/2018 18:03

Can't really add much to what other posters have said. But yes, you absolutely MUST get checked out. Today.

coffeeforone · 05/03/2018 18:04

Like others have said - please go to hospital ASAP. If they monitor you and aren’t satisfied with movements baby may need to be delivered, like now.

Eatmycheese · 05/03/2018 18:05

Go to hospital.
Now.

Please.

chewbacca83 · 05/03/2018 18:05

It is vital to get this checked immediately. That is the only advice to follow. No-one else can do anything. By delaying you could be putting your baby at risk. Please don't delay.

BabloHoney · 05/03/2018 18:06

Please please go straight to hospital or A&E. Any reduced movement needs to be checked out asap. My baby stopped moving and I ended up with an emergency c section as the placenta was failing. Don’t want to scare you but so important to get checked, sending love to you and your baby x

Flisspaps · 05/03/2018 18:07

Go to hospital immediately.

You do NOT want to regret not 'making a fuss'

cornishmumtobe · 05/03/2018 18:11

Hospital. Now.

strawberrysparkle · 05/03/2018 18:14

You need to go k the hospital straight away. Nobody will mind if everything is ok, they will be happy. Midwives do not want anything to be wrong with your baby so they like it when things like fine.

5 days is a long time not to feel anything and hiccups aren't proper movements.

Happened · 05/03/2018 18:18

I'm sorry to put this bluntly but you are being ridiculous. Your baby could be in serious trouble and you've had five days of warnings and done nothing? It doesn't matter how inconvenient it is you need to get to hospital.

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel · 05/03/2018 18:19

As everyone else has said. Please go to the hospital as soon as possible. You are NOT making a fuss in doing so. Family will understand. And if not, call a taxi, a friend or a trusted neighbour, but please go.

Whatamuddleduck · 05/03/2018 18:20

In the nicest way possible, the medical professionals will only do what they need to to keep you and baby safe. Avoiding them means avoiding potentially life saving treatment. If you haven't already... go to hospital.

Cowsopinion · 05/03/2018 18:21

Don't want to make a fuss?

You do realise this is your baby?

Sorry OP but get off MN and get to hospital now!!! I can't believe anyone would wait 5 days! Shock

Make all the fuss in the world OP!!!

LilaBlue · 05/03/2018 18:26

If you haven't already, go now x

LostMyBaubles · 05/03/2018 18:35

I really hope you are at the hosp op
Good luck

Didntcomeheretofuckspiders · 05/03/2018 18:43

I really hope you’re on your way to hospital OP Flowers
