Reduced movement for 5 days - 35 weeks

My baby just will not move! The only movement I've had in 5 days is the hiccups 3 times and that's only lasted around 2/3 minutes as opposed to the usually twice a day he'd never seem to stop having them and I've had a slight roll or small stretch but I've really had to stop and focus to feel this. My partner has given my belly a poke and a prod and a shake and the most he got in 12 hours was one small foot pop up and go back down again. I'm too worried to ring the hospital because we don't drive so it involves ringing family and getting childcare for my boy and I don't like to make a fuss. I'm also worried they'll stick me on a ctg and see he's not moving at all and want to keep me in or induce me soon. Help please!

I hope you are being checked out and baby is oki Thanks

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 05/03/2018 18:47

I hope you're at the hospital!

Always always always get reduced movements checked. You are not wasting anyone's time. They would rather see you 100 times & baby be fine than for someone not to go & something awful to have happened.

Bin85 · 05/03/2018 18:47

Go please

This is what the ‘Kicks Count ‘ campaign is all about .

Icklepickle101 · 05/03/2018 18:49

Please leave ok at kicks count in Facebook whilst on your way to hospital. You need to go now, coming from someone who’s baby was born 4 weeks early because of reduced movements. If I had waited I might not have my darling DS. Please, Please go and go tonight.

Icklepickle101 · 05/03/2018 18:50

If they induce you it’s because you baby is safer out than in, they don’t deliver babies at 36 weeks for fun

InDubiousBattle · 05/03/2018 18:52

This kind of reduction in movements always needs to be seen. You won't be wasting anyone's time. Being induced or kept in is not the worst case scenario here.

Bluebirdsky · 05/03/2018 19:04

I don't want to scare monger but keeping you in and/or wanting to induce you soon would be for a very good reason and that is they are worried about the health of your baby and saying he/she needs to be born now. Please go to the hospital and get checked out.

laura1306 · 05/03/2018 19:17

Thank you everybody ❤️ on the way to the hospital now!

You waited 5 days to go to hospital. Jesus.

SprogletsMum · 05/03/2018 19:47

I hope everything is ok @laura1306

Eatmycheese · 05/03/2018 22:07

Really hope all is well

FranticallyPeaceful · 05/03/2018 22:15

Crikey. I really hope everything is okay, but honestly 5 days is too long. My son was the same in PP at one point, had a lazy few days, but I had the flu and was hospitalised so probably had something to do with it

It takes 30 seconds for them to pop you on the machine and leave you alone for half an hour before they come back and read the results. You aren’t causing any hassle. 5 days is way too long to wait

Redtartanshoes · 05/03/2018 22:16

Hope you are both ok

Thelampshadelady · 05/03/2018 22:22

Please update when you can op. Hope all is well.

ButtMuncher · 05/03/2018 22:22

I understand the fear of making a fuss but my lovely you must get that checked if you find it happens again. My son was induced after repeated reduced movement so it's something midwives and consultants take v seriously. I hope all is well Thanks

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 05/03/2018 22:24

KJE2017 · 05/03/2018 22:25

RLOU88 · 05/03/2018 22:27

Another one here hoping all is well with you and your baby Flowers

Joskar · 05/03/2018 22:29

I hope you're ok and your baby is safe.

I had to have an emcs for reduced movement and we were very lucky to have a healthy delivery. This is so important to check out.

ruthieruthuk · 05/03/2018 23:56

Go for checkup and take someone with you if your worried it's not worth taking any risks and doesn't usually take long for that reassurance..

notapizzaeater · 05/03/2018 23:57

Glad you going to the hospital, it's always s better to be safe

Bluebirdsky · 06/03/2018 08:12

How did it go @laura1306 ?

laura1306 · 06/03/2018 10:11

Was up there till 11pm last night and thought we might have to stay at one point but his heart rate and movements perked up when we were there. I'm under investigation for OC also but they've done some urgent blood tests for numerous other things and just told me to keep my phone on loud. Heading up this afternoon for a scan but the woman started to discuss induction at 37 weeks but was telling me not to worry and I'll speak to the consultant today. Very glad I went up, just anxious for the results now as I feel like they're concerned about something they haven't told me and I'm going to have a surprise!

Really glad you went op and that they are thoroughly checking you for everything. I am sure if they do recommend and induction at 37 weeks it will be for a good reason that the doctor will fully explain to you. Hope the scan goes well.

RLOU88 · 06/03/2018 11:57

Hope all goes well, you really done the right thing going and even though it seems scary they are just doing all the checks they need to do. Flowers
