Hi all, about ten days ago I caught the flu, which then developed into a chest infection. This was all before I knew I was pregnant, which I have since had confirmed ( I am about 5 weeks). I'm feeling a lot better after having been on antibiotics and feeling almost back to normal (I'm back at work tomorrow) but my temperature keeps on spiking! It ranges from within the normal range to as high as 38.5 - even though I feel ok. It's driving me nuts continually trying to bring my temperature down - I've taken paracetamol, which seems to do nothing and drinking cold water. I'm not sure if my thermometer is the most reliable - it's one that you point at your lower forehead as opposed to in-ear. I have already been to my GP who said my chest infection had gone and to just keep taking paracetamol. When is this going to end?! I just don't know what to do, I'm worried sick this is all having an effect on the baby, which is obviously in these very early and significant stages of development. Does anyone have any advice / experience of this? Should I just step away from the thermometer as I am feeling better?
