Nobody told me that it is possible to have morning sickness 24/7, right up until actually giving birth Grin thankfully this pregnancy is smoother!

This time it's hurting loads to sneeze or cough- which is apparently normal!

Tell me yours Grin

Excessive discharge 🤢

MamOfFrankie · 05/03/2018 21:10

The mad dreams!

Kittypillar · 05/03/2018 21:23

The constant nosebleeds!!! I'd never heard that one before, so of all the pregnancy symptoms I thought I'd get, that really wasn't one of them Hmm...

mintchick · 05/03/2018 21:25

whatififall i learnt during my pregnancy that this was known as swamp minge!!!

Whatififall · 05/03/2018 21:31

mintchick swamp minge! 😂😂

sugarycerealfan · 05/03/2018 21:37

Itchy nipples
Back acne
Hairy belly Grin

Also expected to love the feeling of every movement/kick. The reality is that some of them are so strong they make me feel sick!

sugarycerealfan · 05/03/2018 21:41

Oh! And acid reflux! A delight that I have been suffering with for a few days now.

TeachingPuffin · 05/03/2018 21:47

@Pereie. I hadn't realised it's mostly not a very pleasant experience until I spent some time with my pregnant sister at Christmas. clearly didn't make much of an impression as I am now 10+3. Several people have told me being pregnant is hard work. NOW they tell me. screw the people saying the baby takes what it needs - No shit Sherlock, I thought feeling like death was just for shits and giggles!

Babyitscoldouts1de · 05/03/2018 21:56

Vulval varicose veins and 9 months of constipation.

mintchick · 05/03/2018 21:57

whatififall i know!! 😷😷😷

Thelampshadelady · 05/03/2018 22:02

How out of breath I can get at work (semi physical job that’s requires lots of yakking to customers).
How bloody anxiety provoking it is when baby doesn’t move on demand.

Graphista · 05/03/2018 22:05

I had spd, swollen ankles and wrists, gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia near the end, it was 17 years ago and yet what I STILL remember is the NEVER ENDING painful and truly gross heartburn! No matter how much gaviscon I ingested!!

Also really violent uncontrollable shivering the whole night after the birth due to no longer being an incubator for a human hot water bottle - nobody tells you about that do they?!

I was very happy to BE pregnant but my god it was hard.

That scene in "what to expect when you're expecting" when Elizabeth banks' character loses her shit - spot on!

Lilonetwo · 05/03/2018 22:15

Hemmoroids!!!!! ShockSadAngry

FranticallyPeaceful · 05/03/2018 22:21

Managed to avoid hemmeroids ... and then I gave birth. I recall not sitting down for some time

Praise the Lord for anusol, and curse whoever called it anusol instead of something less embarrassing. Nothing quite like asking for some over the counter anal cream

strawberrysparkle · 05/03/2018 22:26

I'm 34 weeks and didn't realise that my ear ache was pregnancy related, thank you ladies!!!

I just didn't realise how undignified I would feel in pregnancy. I'm huge, I woddle, my gums bleed, I get out of breath, I'm constantly sick with heart burn and I can't stop eating!

strawberrysparkle · 05/03/2018 22:26

(But also love my bean and very happy and grateful to be preggers)

mamamalt · 05/03/2018 22:41

@jimijack yesa thousand times yes to that! My Lo is 18months and I'm still a wreck

Notsooriginalwerther · 05/03/2018 22:41

YES the bleeding gums is awful. I ate a nutrigrain at work, unknowingly my pathetic gums started to bleed and I went to speak to a colleague and looked like a cannibal.

Your bump gets so itchy you think you might create a window of torn flesh for your baby to look out of.

The unadulterated sweating after giving birth, waking up every morning in a paddling pool of your own fluids.

If you’re as lucky as me, you’ll be put on iron tablets and every poo will be as black as jimijack ‘s heart.

Also I never knew about the ear thing!!! Thank you all for clarifying this! It used to feel like I’d fallen asleep on a plunger and that my ear canal was throbbing.

Also the hair loss after pregnancy - my hair got very thick during pregnancy and then after giving birth...Poof, gone.

sunandfire · 06/03/2018 09:22

Nobody told me about the VAGINAL DISCHARGE! Discharge goes really weird during pregnancy - completely unlike you've previously been used to!

SeeKnievelHitThe17thBus · 06/03/2018 11:41

Has anyone else had the middle of the night insomnia? Since I found I was pregnant I think I've slept through all night about twice. Every night awake from 1.30 - 2.30am until about 4am. Lovely. Then DH gets up at 5.15 and I'm fit for nothing.

If you google it, it comes up with some rubbish about thinking about your baby or stress. I can go off to sleep ok, why the hell can't I stay asleep. Tempted to try adding sea salt to a glass of water at bedtime (seriously) - it's apparently an electrolyte thing that means you pee more if your salt levels aren't right so may be waking up to pee. Has to be sea salt though. I'm desperate now, and can't take anything else.

AutumnalTed · 06/03/2018 11:45

Itchy nipples, itchy belly, nose bleeds, heart burn, sickness constantly, swollen feet and ankles, your hair gets thick and then falls out in clumps once you’ve given birth, swollen fanny (seriously what was that), nails grow really fast, sweaty all the time, dribbling at night.
That it’s actually shit, every day there’s a new pain or ache or new symptom you’re googling anxiously. It isn’t magical, it’s just shit

Paie · 06/03/2018 12:01

swamp minge, fanny daggers

Getting some beautiful little phrases here!!

@FranticallyPeaceful
Oh god the peeing! I couldn't unless I ran a shallow bath and sort of squatted in that, felt so gross but it was the least painful way... Now I live in a house without a bath and the thought of having to pee after the birth but without a bath is bloody terrifying!
Everyone said pour water down yourself as you go (but the placement of my stitches last time meant this was null and void!).
So I am terrified!

Really long pubic hair :D

SciFiRocker · 06/03/2018 15:04

Basically... pregnancy sucks!!!

PasstheStarmix · 06/03/2018 15:08

That you need a crane to get you out of the car or up from a low seat in later pregancy...Shock
