40+1 today, went for a sweep but mw couldn't do it because my cervix was still closed. She said its soft but still closed. Has anyone else had this but still gone into labour a few days later or is it likely to be another week at least? Im so ready for her to come but just feel like I'm in the same position as last week and the week before Sad

@Twitchett22 is the discharge perhaps a sign of things happening internally? It could be very likely you'll be holding your little one in the next few days but you are also only a day over due so hang in there Smile let us know how your feeling this evening too though

Browny discharge could be the start of your plug - is it a bit phlegm-like (sorry)!!

Yep, happened to me and DS popped out 3 days later.

Yep had my bloody show now aswell! Although didn't think that would happen if my cervix is closed? Unless that means its possibly started to dilate?
I've got a mw appt on wed but if its the same mw I've seen the last couple of times she's not great and gives me barely any info. She'll just book me in for induction and leave me to it probably.
I know im only a day overdue but its just disheartening when you feel like things are progressing and actually nothings happened. Fingers crossed it might have triggered something.

I went into labour within 6 hours or so of bloody show - not sure if that's always the case but fingers crossed for you! I'm not sure whether it means your cervix has opened or not but certainly things changing in there. Diarrhoea in the run up to labour is also v common.

On another point - a friend of mine told me after not getting along with a midwife in her first labour, that it's so important to ask for someone else if you're not happy. Maybe not necessary at a community appt but I did this and although it was a slight cringe I think labouring with likeable people around you defo helps the process!

Good luck xx
