Very much looking forwards to meeting our baby, but after this week please!

A couple of days off 37 weeks so seems unlikely but have had persistent lower back pain all night. Not unusual on its own as I often get it at night but this feels different (and isn't followed by the hobbling around when I get up that usually goes with my back/pelvic pain)

Couldn't sleep all night and my heart has been racing (still is far faster than usual)

I usually have very low blood pressure and fairly slow resting heart rate so been very low risk for pre eclampsia. No swelling or anything.

My husband has man flu at the moment and our house isn't ready (renovations - but will be much better by the week after next)

Really hoping this isn't a sign of labour and contractions on their way?

Ring your midwife. She will advise you.

I went into labour at 36 weeks.
My water's did break first although not everyone's do!!
Then it was lower back pain.. like a burning, period-pain cramping sorta pain.. then contractions - again mostly in the back.

Sounds like you could be going into early labour!

Call the midwife- were not medics here so better call the experts.

Good luck

Plus at 37 weeks you're considered full term so baby will be fine.

It could be. DS came at 36+5.
Are you concerned about the baby itself being a bit early, or that the house is being renovated, or that your DH is ill?

Inthepinktoday · 04/03/2018 16:34

Thanks everyone

Backache eased off so hopefully nothing - would call midwives if actual contractions started

@BikeRunSki - all of the above really! Baby on the small side although probably would be ok by now but house and illness not ideal - I know there's worse situations mind you!

Will report back if anything does start but hopefully baby will stay snug for a couple of weeks if it's safe to do so

Hopefully your baby will stay put a few more days to get everything sorted. Good luck.
