Tell me I'm being paranoid re listeriosis and a ready meal

In third trimester and only three weeks left

For context, I have had listeriosis before but had no idea, so I think it's more common than the stats show. It's typically associated with ready to eat chilled foods.

I have just eaten a ready meal that should have been in preheated oven for 25 mins. I put it in unpreheated oven for what transpires to be more like 20 mins

I know it's unlikely but now I'm panicking! Have had a high risk pregnancy so more worried than usual anyway! I wouldn't mind food poisoning as wouldn't affect the baby... but listeriosis very dangerous

Help!

Should say food poisoning probably wouldn't affect baby - don't want to minimise how dangerous that can be too for anyone who has suffered but listeria more worried about

Was it piping hot when you ate it?

If it was hot, you'll be fine. Even if it wasn't the chances are really really small. I get the anxiety though. I had my bloods checked for toxoplasmosis 3 times when i was pregnant.

I'm not certain, it was warm when I ate it but spent some time serving up other stuff so had been out of the oven a while. It might have been and then cooled down.

I guess making myself sick wouldn't really help now?

Do NOT make yourself sick. You're being paranoid. Please calm down.

What was it?

Most ready meals are pre cooked, so I doubt you’ll catch any of the nastier bugs. Most straightforward food poisoning won’t harm the baby, it’s just a bit grim while dealing with pregnancy.
