I have been searching for a pair of mens type pj's that are really light cotton and very large around the waist but can't find any that fit properly.

Any suggestions?

what size are you? I have a pair of size 22 pj's that i got from asda, that will last me throughtout pregnancy. could just be worth buying slightly larger than normal.

thanks - good point, doesn't matter if I am swimming in them, I just don't want anything tight around my waist - it feels awful when trying to sleep in this heat!!!

i know. i hate this weather. i'm only about 10 weeks on, but feel 'fatter' already. just remember trying to keep cool with dd2 (born 1st sept 2002), and ended up with lots of loose items.

Ive got some nice ones from verbaudet try their site!

bicbic · 02/08/2004 17:44

what about a nice nightshirt wouldnt this be cooler than pjs try blooming marvellous or next maternity

I got some size 20-22 (I'm normally a 10) shortie T-shirt material pjs. They were dead comfy and because the top was a button up one, I carried on wearing them after the birth for easy breastfeeding.

I used La Senza or M+S cotton stretch vests over the bump and boxer short knickers. as you get bigger you roll the vest up over your bump... and the knickers simply pull down a bit,

hana · 02/08/2004 21:20

try sleeping in nothing!!

no, seriously......I'm 20 weeks and most nights it's a vest and knicks, unless I'm veeerrrrry hot.....!!

Also vote for the larger than regular pj bottoms, esp ones with a soft narrow stretch waistband. Try places like knickerbox or m&s. Mine are from the gapbody, but have older ones too that I can no longer read the label from

I sleep in nothing at all, and lately have had just cotton sheet and no duvet - far too hot and uncomfortable! DH is like a human hot water bottle too, so I can't bear anything on me.
I haven't had any luck with oversized pjs - bought a couple of thin strap nightlies from Asda in much bigger sizes but the straps keep falling off my shoulders and I look like I'm about to do a strip any moment, so no good.
I am on the look out for comfy, but cool and light lounging about the house clothes ... may give La Senza a try...

There are some shortie ones in Jo Jo's sale

beansprout · 03/08/2004 17:34

Someone gave me the Jojo pjs - highly recommended (although dp laughing at them did take the edge off...!)

I got summer strappy short all cotton knit night dresses at Primark. I wore them in the winter too as I was always hot when pregnant. Now that I'm no longer pregnant I can still wear them. I normally wear mens pj's, but found that to get them big enough to be comfortable around my bump meant that they were too big to stay up and I got tangled up in them.

thanks everyone, the Jo jo shorties look perfect.
