I was walking home today and slipped on ice falling hard on to my back (almost like one of those comical banana peel slips..) I'm 35 weeks tomorrow and I'm not sure I I should be worried, baby is moving a little bit and usually perks up more after I've eaten a large meal, has anyone else fallen this late in pregnancy and was everything okay? Do I need to get checked over? My Dr's isn't open till tomorrow now....

I think if your worries you should call the midwives and ask their advice. Only they can tell you what to do. You should have a number to call any time of day or night.

Hope all is ok x

Ouch, that sounds painful. Flowers

I would ask my midwife to be checked over in those circumstances. Usually they have an assessment unit where they can monitor heartbeat and do a scan if needed.
Most likely baby is fine, but worth checking up.

If you are concerned head in to the hospital for a check. While it will most likely be ok it is better to be safe than sorry. Is there a triage number you can call at the hospital for advice?

I fell down the stairs twice when I was pregnant. Went into hospital both times and was put on the monitor. Baby was fine but just thought it was best to check.

I'm going to eat my dinner in a mo and see if I feel more movement, as this is when he normally moves about which is really normal for him. My nearest hospital is a 40 min drive so if things don't improve I think I'll go in tonight, if they do I will probably go in first thing tomorrow morning just to be sure :-(

I fainted in the shower in hospital when I was pregnant and they took it really seriously, made me have a scan.

Doesthiscountasausername · 02/03/2018 19:51

If your movements are not the normally pattern that you are used to then it’s best to go in. The midwives there will be more than happy to monitor. For peace of mind, I would make the journey in and get monitored.

BuffaloCustardbath · 02/03/2018 19:58

I would definitely get monitored, the midwives won't mind you going in for reassurance. Keep us updated OP, I'm sure all is just grand but at least it won't be on your mind.

I'm 30 weeks today and had a fall yesterday, on to my front whilst holding my 2yo. Called midwife and she just told me to keep an eye on movements, etc.. All seems fine and baby is still kicking away as normal.
Go get checked if you are worried though

gryffen · 02/03/2018 20:33

I'm 16 weeks and slipped on Wednesday, was up on Thursday getting AntiD injection and saw midwife today. Don't mess about, if you are worried get chexked and phone up now. Better to have a late dinner than something worse.

Good luck mama

Get yourself checked if you're worried.

I fell down the stairs at 36 weeks. Everything was absolutely fine.

El1995 · 02/03/2018 21:10

He's more active after eating dinner which is a good sign, going to pop in to my walk in centre tomorrow just to double check things, will keep you all updated, thanks for all your comments x

Great news OP Smile.

Great news OP, really pleased to hear it Smile

MagicNumbers1234 · 03/03/2018 19:33

Good news op. I had a fall at 19 weeks and got checked out. The Doctor said there is so much fluid by that point of pregnancy, not to worry as it wouldn't harm my baby. DC2 was fine.
