Walking in the snow

Laying in bed listening to freezing rain hammer down on compacted snow - thinking about my short walk to work (two roads 5 minutes).

SOD THAT!!

Anyone else pulling the pregnancy card for work tomorrow? Surely we have the best excuse!

Im already pulling the pregnancy card by only having a 10 minute walk - working local instead of my base which would be a 14 mile drive and a 15 minute walk each way. 32 weeks today and I'm working until 36 weeks so can't really get away with not showing up!

Be careful out there! Wrap that bump up warm and Don your grippiest boots!

Thankfully I have a very understanding and supportive manager who told me not to attempt to come in if there is snow on the ground. 34 weeks today. I hope you didn’t go in! It’s definitely not safe walking and I find it really hurts my back even just holding myself upright on slippy ground. Stick to your guns Smile

Good on you.

I'm 32 weeks, and my route to work is a 40 minute drive via un-gritted backlanes. I told my manager that I wasn't willing to risk it and she was nothing but vile.

Our babies come first though. Stick to your guns.

I fell in the snow in 2010 while 32 weeks pregnant.

Orthopaedic surgery under local anaesthetic, minimal pain relief, injecting blood thinners and being on crutches in the late stages of pregnancy as well as having to use a commode because I couldn't make it up the stairs to pee was NO FUN.

Please be careful everyone x

Not a chance! Far too slippery. Me and the bump huddled up inside. Am very bored of the snow though..!

Made it there and back safely! Had some very grippy shoes on and took it slowly. I work in a hospital so was in the right place if I took a tumble on the way in! Back at home with my feet up and a warm blanket Smile
