Ladies. I've just found out I am pregnant and am simply terrified that I'm going to have a miscarriage (had one before). How do you get past this fear? I'm not even 4 weeks yet so have a way to go! I need to calm down and enjoy my pregnancy but I can't seem to be able to... any advice would be very much appreciated.

You dont. Well i didnt.

I spent the first 5 months of my second pregnacy grieving the loss of my first pregnancy.

And i spent months and months of my first childs life not coping because i had over prepared the expectation of not getting to meet him.

Im not sure that is what you want to hear. It is undoubtedly a difficult time.

I spent months crying oceans about my need for motherhood and the yearnibng to hold my baby.

Including my lost soul, in 39 i had 4 pregnancies. 3 which lasted 42 weeks and survived.

It was and still is a rollercoaster.

I hope it all goes well.

You take each day as it comes and every week is a milestone. Remember, as the weeks pass, the chances of miscarriage reduce.

Pregnancy after loss is much much harder than anyone can tell you, or you can imagine. I gave birth to my son at 24 weeks last year due to an incompetent cervix (no idea I had this) and unfortunately, he didn't survive a few hours past birth due to complications in labour. However, I am now pregnant again and have got my 20 week scan in the next couple of weeks. It's been a rollercoaster and I have been terrified, anxious and so worried 90% of the time but I have precautions in place to prevent this happening again.

Experiencing loss, no matter what point in your pregnancy, is really hard. Try not to let it ruin this experience, I really hope it works out for you SmileThanks
