This is my third pregnancy and I am determined to not end up like I did with my first (and second to an extent). I put on FIVE stone with my first pregnancy because I just didn't stop eating. I then didn't have time to get it off again before becoming pregnant again (9 months later).

Now almost 3 years down the line I have shed most of the weight and am a lot healthier and fitter and attend the gym regularly. I am absolutely determined not to gain as much weight as before but the ravenous hunger has kicked in already and I can't stop eating!! I'm only 5 weeks! If this continues I'm gonna be a barrel again!

Any tips on how to combat the insatiable hunger?

You can't not eat so when you eat make good choices rather than grabbing convenient snacks. Have high protein, low sugar foods. Start the day with a good breakfast - jumbo oats are good and release energy slowly. Top with fruit to make them a little more exciting. Turkey, chicken and pork can be good low fat high protein options. Get in some nuts and things like carrots, peppers, cucumber and cherry tomatoes that you can make crudites with and jazz it up with tzatziki which if made from proper Greek yoghurt is also a good source of protein. Try to stay away from crisps and biscuits and prepare meals and snacks from scratch when possible. Processed food is your enemy. All obviously easier in theory than practice. Good luck!

I feel your pain. I'm only 7 weeks in, but anytime i feel even remotely hungry I feel very, very nauseous. So obviously I'm basically constantly eating. I do try and eat healthy, but it seems to be really carb heavy things that I'm craving, lots of bread, which I wouldn't usually be a huge fan of. How far along are you? Are you making sure you get enough water and fluids?
