Been taking Spatone as recommended as my Iron level is quite low for me at the moment. Only been taking it for a week but not feeling any better.

Anybody know how long it will take to feel better.

Iron is at 11.2 usually over 14.

can you eat apricots? anything leafy and green is good, washed down with freshly squeezed oj.
Try Floradix, can work alongside spatone, mix with juice if you don't like taste.
When you take anything with iron, avoid milk, eggs and tea for 3 hours if you can, they inhibit your body's ability to absorb it.

Ive onyl been on Spatone since Monday, but am starting to feel better already.

As your iron levels are low are you taking 1 or 2 sachets a day?

If only 1, i would up to 2. If at 2, you need to try and get some vit C and iron in through your diet.

they may take 2-3 weeks to kick in - very important to take with a source of vitamin C. If you don't eat red meat, tofu is very high in iron, as are pumpkin seeds - buy a big bag from Holland and Barrat and munch away!

Hi

I have a long history of iron deficient anaemia and current levels are 10.2. Floradix doesn't contain enough iron to boost your levels although I had a friend who took it plus dark chocolate each day and felt instantly better!

I am taking Ferrous Sulphate tablets which are 200mg/tablet. You take 1 per day for prevention and 2-3/day to treat anaemia. They are really cheap from pharmacy and the only thing my doctor recommends.

As for eating the others have given the correct advice especially about not drinking tea when taking tablets as the tanin prevents absorption of iron. You should make sure you have lots of Vit C instead.

Good luck!

If you are pg you can take 2 sachets a day cupcake. This is what I did and I noticed the difference immediately (suffered low iron and low bp). I notice a difference straightaway so maybe you have to up your dose. I still take 1 sachet now I'm not pg though I think you have to give yourself a little break every so often.

Dark chocolate is high in iron, if that helps!
