Elective induction

Hi girls was wondering if it possible to request an induction at 39 weeks . I'm currently pregnant with my 3rd and have had 2 traumatic births and was gonna go for a elective c section but would prefer an induction as I will have my 2 other children to look after . I also have a pituitary tumour which always seems to cause problems nearer the end of my pregnancy which results in me being hospitalised . I suffer from high blood pressure and high pulse also in pregnancy . What's the chances of an induction being approved instead of going for an elective c section ?

You can always ask your consultant! If it's between an induction or c section they might be happy to try inducing you first

My consultant actively encouraged induction at 39 weeks due to high BP and pulse rate. Ended up not needing it as the sweep he did when I went in to discuss induction dates worked a treat instead! Definitely worth asking but don't be surprised if it keeps getting put back due to lack of beds etc. Good luck and congrats Flowers
