Are contractions near?

I do find myself asking this a lot so apologies lol but...
Today my poos are loose, I've cleaned the whole house (normally im just knackered), and having a mixture of period pains and sharper pains down below. Oh and last night i had a major emotional breakdown just for no reason. This has been ongoing for a couple of weeks now but today definitely feels different like things have ramped up a bit.
Does this mean early contractions are likely to come soon or could it still be days and days? I know its a bit like how longs a piece of string.
Im 39+4 btw.

Twitchett, no advice to give, sorry, but this started for me yesterday evening - loose stools and period pains (that eased off later) plus emotional breakdown and much sobbing over something pretty insignificant...but I am only 36 weeks and hoping to postpone the labour for a bit longer...interesting that you say it has been going on for a couple of weeks now. I don't think I had this in my previous two pregnancies so it is reassuring to read your post. Hopefully, someone will come along soon with some more advice.

I had my baby at 39+3 and I had exact same. I also peed a MILLION times. Good luck sounds like it's close! X

Hi Gin...did you have this sort of thing a couple of weeks beforehand - what was your lead up time?
I don't recall experiencing this in my previous pregnancies.

Sorry I just seen this, I started feeling different a few weeks before definitely. I just felt weird, but I started with proper symptoms the day before my waters broke xx
