Anyone else near, on or after their due date and just looking at the weather thinking...oh sod 😂

I'm 40+1 today, we're due a big dump tomorrow and I just know this Nugget has the potential to ramp it up right for snowmaggedon due to hit soon in time for us to be driving over ice and snow to the hospital.....or if course we might miss it entirely!

How are you all doing ladies?! Got the ice skates and huskies out yet in preparation?!

I had my son during a snow years ago and they wanted to send a bloody helicopter out!! Luckily he was late in the end and I was induced so had plenty of time to prepare coming in, which ended up being in a friends tractor!
I was crossing my legs just in case, I tell you that much!! Lol

I was rushed to hospital during torrential rain! DH tells people that's why we called DS Noah... Grin

I've been having contractions on and off (40+6) since last night. I know she's waiting until the big snow tomorrow! Oh god she's gonna be born in the side of a road in a snow drift!! Confused

Lavenderdays · 28/02/2018 20:22

Yes, I am panicking and I'm only 36 weeks. I had Braxton hicks last pm and it got me thinking baby could come at any time (dd2 was born at 38 weeks). Just seeing the snow fall makes me feel claustrophobic (usually pre-pregnancy, I love the snow and will go out and play!). But the main thing is it will mess up my childcare plans for my other two dcs if it happens which is a major concern as I was hoping dh would be with me. I think it is supposed to get milder at the start of next week...but not much consolation to those of you who have hit their due date already x
Frantically, wow, talk about drama...helicopters and tractors!
Good luck Spug...I'd say try to get to hospital sooner rather than later if in any doubt; I would be inclined to get checked out at the hospital in the morning if it were me I think.

Oh wow-a helicopter?!?! That is so cool!!

Well, I lost the rest of my plug yesterday. Although I don't think anything else is starting so I'm starting to wonder if I'll be one of those 'lose it and 2 weeks later I'm induced' gals!

How's it looking in various areas guys? Not too bad in Oxfordshire so far but I think the worst is yet to come!!!

Currently 37+5 with dc2 stuck in Lincolnshire weather!! All our major routes to the hospital are shut! My car hasn't moved in 3 days so can't say it would start!! My first was born at 37 so I'm in tender hooks now!
Had a few twinges last night which made me and dh wonder how we would get the the hospital!! My anxiety levels are at an all time high!!

blinkineckmum · 01/03/2018 11:42

Oh no, good luck OP! We have the snow over the next few days. I'm 37+2 and dd was born at 37+4! Plus the inlaws have just told me they're too ill to help with childcare for my 2yo and 4yo. Hope everyone's ok.

CL1982 · 01/03/2018 11:46

Oh bloody hell! They got a proper dump over there didn't they? Stay warm and safe and let's all think holding in throughts for you! Lots of babies come at different times so hopefully this will be a bubs who wants to stay in a while longer ❤️

39+2, so not quite at due date, but I'm quite chilled over here (no pun intended).

We do have snow here but it is what it is and if it happens I will just have to deal with it then. I wonder whether I should be more worried than I am??

ExhaustedAndHormonal · 01/03/2018 15:48

I'm due next week.. And dp keeps joking it will be during the snow. However we do live just a 10 min walk (we'll. Prob half hour) from the hospital if needed.. But childcare for DS. Would be a different story lol

Potteryprincess30 · 01/03/2018 16:49

@TheCatsMother44 just a few more days until due date too and was wondering the same thing as I just don't feel that worried about the snow at all Hmm. I am worried about my partner working in it and driving but the actual snow situation is ok really as in Bristol so close to midwife center. Plus no school for kids till Monday/tuesday so actually makes things a lot easier

TheMrs04 · 01/03/2018 18:05

The roads round us are still pretty much shut! Although we live near a RAF base so we have a few options to get to the hospital!! A friend of mine joked he would fly us there in a jet 😂🙈 that would be a grand entrance lol!! To be honest I'm expecting to go into labour soon and he will end up being born at home!! Even my mum can't get as the roads from hers are treacherous!!
Dh is dreading it in case nobody can get to us and he ends up delivering baby. 😆
