Hi, we’ve had an independent midwife throughout this pregnancy (well, actually, two who work together). Any ideas for a thoughtful thank you gift for them? We heard one joking with the

... NHS midwife on the ward about how they were sick of hand creams and chocolates, so something a little more inventive would be lovely!

Does anyone have any ideas please? :)

A hand written card .
I keep all mine and when work becomes more challenging I often go back and read through my thank you cards ..... they remind me what a privilege my job really is and just make me feel better really .
Practically .... tights ! Warm gloves , nice tea ... but my cards are definitely worth so much more than anything material for me x

I'm surprised the midwives joked about being sick of handcreams and chocolates as my midwife friend said food always goes down well with the midwives - so I've bought a big tub of chocs I'm taking when I have my baby (any day now!).

What about a beautiful engraved pen with your baby's name and dob etc

We’ll definitely be writing a very heartfelt card! I was wondering about a diffuser or something like that, maybe something from The White Company? I like the pen idea a lot actually! Will look into that. I’d have gone for chocolates too (surely you can never have too many?? 😂) but it would be nice to gift something that will last a little longer...

I'm going to get a card and a present for my community midwife as she's been amazing so far! Not sure what exactly, maybe a mug or pamper set

And I am going to take in a pre written thankyou card and box of chocolates or something for the midwife/doctor who delivers the baby

I didn't with my first and felt really bad afterwards! Trying to be much more organised this time!

I made a donation in MW's name to a midwifery charity, and dropped of a metric fuckton of pastry. Both well received.
