Got my anomaly scan at 15.00 today and I'm honestly absolutely (I'm sorry) shitting myself !! I know I need to relax ect but I feel like I'm so bonded with my baby now feeling her kicks( had a sexing scan at 17 weeks) what do the test for exactly? Has anyone else felt this nervous? Please be nice be comments I'm in a fragile state and don't need the upset ( thankyou)

I only say this because I've had some bitchy comments before that just wasent needed and I'm looking to you ladies for support 😔 Thankyou 💗

They check everything! All the organs and structures so it's not quick, then they may tell you the sex at the end if you want ( unless it's against their policy)

They check the four heart chambers, the kidneys, bladder; they measure the femur and the circumference of the tummy. They probably do much more than that but that's what I remember from mine 4 years ago! I have mine next week and I'm scared, too. Fingers crossed all will be fine for both of us! Good luck Flowers

Oh and they look at/measure the brain/skull I think. It's truly amazing to watch!

Downeyhouse · 27/02/2018 10:23

If you had one at 17 weeks they would have already been able to see then if they were major problems.
If they did not mention anything you should be fine.
Good luck and enjoy seeing your baby.

Best of luck with your scan OP. Remember the vast majority of scans find no anomaly (about 98%)

Dairymilkmuncher · 27/02/2018 12:12

Good luck and this time tomorrow you'll have the all clear everything is fine or you'll be informed of anything that could be wrong, try and just keep busy till three it's not long now!!

Mothers worry never stops by the way, even when they are born and big....
