Hi everyone. I'm 6w today and the morning sickness has hit out of nowhere. Luckily I'm off work today for study leave but I have to travel to London tomorrow for a 3.5 hour exam. Im going on the train from South Yorkshire with a colleague and meeting a few more down there. I'm really worried about needing to spew in the middle of my exam! My colleagues don't know I'm pregnant given it's still early. Can anyone recommend any tips for easing sickness? Wishful thinking I'm sure.

Luckily I've not got exam nerves too!

Ginger biscuits This will be number 5 but have never felt so sick taken to carrying a packet in my bag just in case

Little and often dry, bland foods. There's not much you can do apart from that really. Do not let yourself get hungry as that makes it worse. If it's really bad the vomiting you can get stuff prescribed by your GP but obviously they only want to do that if it's many times a day being sick kind of thing and the medication generally doesn't improve nausea, only reduces vomiting (I know as I had HG for the first few months of my pregnancy, bleurgh).

Salted crisps, beige bland food, original lucozade, haribo!

Oh god op, I feel your pain, my morning sickness was AWFUL.

I found the trick was to NEVER let myself get hungry and to just constantly but slowly eat bland foods. For 26 weeks all I could eat were plain bagels with plain cream cheese, salted crisps, and digestive biscuits. Nothing too sweet.

And before you get out of bed, eat something, for some reason it helps. I kept a package of dry biscuits by my bed and every time I woke up, I ate one.

God speed- it does pass but HOLY is it hell until it does.

These breadsticks helped a lot with my nausea. Was constantly munching on them. They have salt crystals on them. Bought them in the Polish section at Sainsbury’s.

Oh and ready salted crisps, apple juice and fresh tomatoes with salt helped too.

Brilliant, thanks guys! It finally eased off today at about 6.30pm. Definitely going to grab some salted snacks I think and some ginger biscuits! Thank you for your help xx

For on the go I ate a lot of polo mints. Helps after the puking too...
I ate a lot of bachelors super noodles. Chicken flavour. Made with an extra stock cube. And lots and lots of crisps. I didn't come nearer than ten feet to fruit or veg for weeks!!
