Hello fellow mumsnetters it's me again. I am, currently 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I am following everything I can do I have come completely off caffeine accept from, I did treat myself to a diet coke today which has been yummy! My bump has started growing already it seems to be getting bigger each week. Now I know it's early on already but I just wanted to know if it's normal? Because I seem to be already growing quite quickly and quite big. I have been doing everything properly I sometimes feel sick in the morning but after my caffeine free tea i am all good. Any ideas Many thanks Lauren

My partner and I have been reading about possibility of twins etc what's everyone's thoughts.? I currently posted this in the conception section woops x

That will be pregnancy bloat at 5w. Not baby growth. I have twins both sides but 2 pregnancies were both singles. Good luck.

This is what's happening at 5 weeks: www.babycenter.com/6_your-pregnancy-5-weeks_1094.bc

It's miniscule so not causing the bump. However, it's very common to get a lot of bloating in early pregnancy so that will be why your stomach is looking bigger, if you have not put on any weight (which is always very common, especially if you're eating a lot more frequently than normal to keep nausea at bay). But honestly don't worry about it just try to eat as well as you can.

That'll be pregnancy bloat OP, at 8 weeks I thought I was going to have the biggest bump my stomach was growing and felt tight rounded, and then it deflated about week 12.
I'm still not in possession of a proper bump now at 26 weeks.

At the moment baby is about the size of a sesame seed so even if it was quads in there it wouldn't make a difference at this stage.

PP are right. I'm pregnant with twins but didn't show that early. It's just bloat.

Ninjamilo · 25/02/2018 20:48

As others replied on your other thread, definitely not baby bump, it's the size of a seed!

I was around 25 weeks when I looked remotely pregnant to anyone who didn't know me...

TheCatsMother44 · 25/02/2018 20:58

That early it'll definitely be bloat and not bump. You'll see what we mean when your bump does come in.

strawberrysparkle · 25/02/2018 21:11

It's bloat. I didn't get a bump until 25 weeks so you've got a while yet

petalsinthegarden · 25/02/2018 21:29

OP, first of all congratulations!

Second of all, it's definitely bloat. I was so bloated I thought I'd have to be rolled down the stairs if it carried on!

Enjoy your pregnancy :)

wilts09 · 25/02/2018 22:48

Congrats.
You wait until you are lugging a 30-40 week old bump around and you will look back on this and giggle!

ForeverHopeful21 · 26/02/2018 08:54

Same here - I looked 6 months pregnant when I was only 8 weeks and was in maternity jeans by 10 weeks and could no longer wear my normal clothes. It remained with me until 13 weeks and then out of nowhere deflated!

I then got a proper baby bump around 16 weeks. I know some people say you get it much later but everyone is different.
