Reasons for GTT/baby measuring “big”

I had a growth scan on Friday and was over the moon, but not shocked, when they said my boy was measuring a bit bigger. 7lbs 4oz at 37 weeks. His brother, my only other, was born at 38 weeks weighing 8lb 14oz. They’re now testing me for gestational diabetes and I want to cry? Silly I know, but my medications can cause lower birth weight and I was so happy he’s fine and it feels like a bit of a downer tbh. I think they’re doing it because I’m only 5ft and a natural size 6, but surely mum’s size is no reflection on baby’s. Also he’s measuring perfect with no excess fatty tissue etc and I didn’t have GD with my first. Has anyone had similar? Also the obstetrician wanted to do a sweep because he’s big and it’s a VBAC but my cervix was still closed despite losing my plug a week ago.
Sorry for the long post, just feeling a bit down now. Thanks

Just wanted to let you know my story briefly. Prev CS At 9cm, baby 10lb 5oz, section for sepsis. Desperate for VBAC, induced at 39+4 for acute polyhydramnios and we knew he was big. Born 39+6 l, normal birth following induction of a 10lb baby. I had no sweeps as don’t think they are helpful. Stay positive

I had the diabetes test but all was fine. Was told DD would be over 9.5 pounds. She came out at 8lb 3oz and that was at 15 days late!
