What to put in my hospital bag?

Currently pregnant with number 2. I can't even remember what I took in with dd. But I know I had this huge bag the midwives couldn't lift and I packed way too much. I'm currently packing ds but I've no clue what to put in. I see the midwife Wednesday but I've been getting twinges recently so I'm now panicking it won't be long.

2x vests
2x sleep suits.
Going home outfit
Snow suit
Hat
Mittens
Shower gel.
Shampoo/conditioner.
Dressing gown
Slippers
Dummy
Phone
Charger
Pjs
Pads

.. I'm probably missing loads but what else can I add?

I took a snowsuit when i gave birth a few weeks ago but they told me not to use it with the car seat, luckily I had another thinner coat with me. They said the seatbelt will be too loose and dangerous in an accident. They said it's best just to use a thin jacket/coat/fleece and layer blankets once strapped in.

Would I need to take formula? Slightly controversial here. This is my main problem.
With dd my supply just didn't come through. Literally nothing constant for 5 weeks and although again formula is last resort, I'd rather have it if my breasts don't work properly again than him be hungry. But I really want to try again. Especially with the colostrum

One of those water sprays for your face as it's hotter than the Sahara on a maternity ward

ProseccoPoppy · 23/02/2018 22:29

Lip balm (gas and air plus hugely heated wards will mean dry lips),
hairbrush (forgot mine last time),
nursing/sleep bra (will mean you’re comfy and supported),
lasinoh cream for cracked nipples,
water wipes,
Either a water bottle with a sports top or some straws in case you can’t easily sit up to drink for any reason.

wilts09 · 23/02/2018 22:33

LIP BALM. I've read on a previous thread too that nipple cream is an amazing lip balm so if you have that- two birds one stone x

Blanket and hat for little one. We forgot the blanket as it was on top of bag and somehow got discarded. Hosp weren't that keen on lending us a blanket for the journey home!

Twocatsonebaby · 23/02/2018 22:42

Thank you! Definitely a few blankets. Dd peed over hers in the ward and when it came to taking her home they didn't take too kindly to me using one of their blankets. I offered to wash it and bring it back and they were ever so arsey about it
